Understanding too Big to Fail; Glass Steagall & the Volcker Rule

Always, it is the forgotten man who suffers when Big Banks are Dishonest

To Regulate or not to Regulate; that is the question . . .

robtheworld

Small Business (organized right)  employs more than all the high tech companies, more than Walmart, Ali Baba, and Amazon added up together. Wipe out the small businesses, each with two or three or twenty employees with BAD LEGISLATION and (like Obama) you destroy the smaller jobs that keep the economy afloat.

So how do we rate the new Trump, Treasury Secretary?

The only thing on which he is firm is that there will be no bank bailouts. Well good.

The Vocker rule? he kind of likes it. Does he favor Glass Steagall; maybe and maybe not?  Is he in bed with the big bankers? Looks like that but not necessarily so. This dissembling may not be a bad thing at all, at all.  We should give the man a chance. Now is not the time to rock the financial boat.

NOTE: GLASS STEAGALL WAS A CAMPAIGN PROMISE.  It was even written into the GOP platform.

To clarify, the Volcker rule puts limits on the ability of banks to bet with money entrusted to them by depositors.

Glass Steagall on the other hand. cleans up the confused identity in banking. It forces banks to be either an Investment Bank or a Commercial Bank.

An Investment Bank buys and sells bonds, stocks and other investments. They assist new companies to go public with their initial offering. (IPOs) When we think of Investment Banks we also think of market or economic liquidity. Investment Banks fulfill their purpose (contribution to the social contract) better with fewer regulations. They need  governed by common sense rules that are simple and clearly defined. Now after fifly years of confused identity, it is a hornet’s nest. For example, the rules governing derivatives badly need clarified, and overhauled. Derivatives have formed a banking bubble and we now have more “too big to fail banks” than we had in 2008.

Commercial Banks on the other hand act as managers for deposit accounts. They serve both individuals and small businesses.  In the ideal the money they take in is lent out to individuals and small businesses and the economy grows.  Because they deal with the little man, or small businesses that are somewhat frail, they demand more oversight.

In September 2016 we had the Wells Fargo scandal. The employees secretly created millions of unauthorized bank and credit card accounts — without their customers knowing it, they were charging them phony fees and making off like a banshee. Wells Fargo employees secretly opened unauthorized accounts to hit sales targets in order to receive bonuses. Commercial banks need oversight.

NOTE: Like 2008 when no banking executives were prosecuted, the Wells Fargo CEO resigned and walked away free of blame. Hello?

TBTFThe seeds for the 2008 crash were sown on Bill Clinton’s watch; an inept president and his greedy banking cronies who took advantage. The economy was turned around after the 2008 crash. It took taxpayer bailouts of both American and Foreign Banks. Obama and Bernanke saved the system, but failed to fix the problem. It is the “Mom & Pop” small business that trusts these banks.  It is also the “Mom & Pop” small business culture that fueled what economic Obama recovery there was. If these little businesses get wiped out in a banking crash, or by over-regulation, it would be a bad, sad day for America.

With this in mind the new government may look at being proactive and enacting Glass Steagall. It is also a way to break up the big banks that is fair. It simplifies things.

Note well: It was the crash of 2008 that brought on the income inequality that now puts our culture at risk.

A little background on Glass Steagall:

In the roaring twenties there was so much easy money in risky-investments that several big Wall Street banks began salivating. They then decided to pull the deposit money out of trusted accounts and use this money to speculate. It wasn’t their money and it wasn’t ethical, so it all went appetite over tin cup; bankers jumped out of high windows and America went a slipping and a sliding into a great Depression.

The Glass Steagall Act of 1933 is a set of good reforms that ushered in a crisis-free period in USA financial history. We should learn from our past mistakes.

1933 the evidence of banking corruption was irrefutable: After the then ethics investigation, it was found that BANKING & BROKERING WAS A POISONOUS MARRIAGE. This little story illustrates the point.

“Young Bobby has just turned thirteen and in honor of his teenage status Dad has decided to give him a weekly allowance.  Bobby is a born entrepreneur and he and his neighbor friend, Goldy owned a lemonade stand (this was in the days before bureaucrats made this kind of endeavor illegal)

Goldy like Bobby, was also a producer and although young, she had a knack with food and drinks. Their little corner business was popular for the word had gotten around that stopping there was well worth the wait. So it came to be that Bobby had not only his allowance but also his profits. What to do with all the extra money?Bobby went to talk to Dad.

Dad called the boys together to educate them about income and outgo and savings – it seemed the right time. (Bobby had a big brother called George and Dad included him) Dad gave the boys a collective savings bank (his first mistake) and entrusted the bank to George’s care; after all he was the oldest and he was tall enough to reach to put the box on top of the closet. (Dad’s second mistake)

There was one small problem that neither Bobby nor Dad figured into the equation; George was into Pokeman Cards and his obsession had quickly got him outspending his own allowance.  George unlike Bobby and Goldy was not a producer, he was a gambler. Are you surprised that he began to steal from the box?

As time went along it got hotter; summer is the best of all times to sell lemonade. The little entrepreneurs decided they needed a canopy. Bobby asked to get the savings-box down and was devastated to find that it was empty. What were they to do? They really needed that canopy! It was hot.

George whined that he had always intended to pay the money back; he suggested that Dad step in and make it right and buy the canopy for Bobby, after all Dad didn’t want to see his little brother suffer, right? George’s strongest argument (which Dad bought), was that Bobby wouldn’t have been able to do the Pokeman investing by himself, so he was really trying to help him. I mean what did Bobby know about Pokeman?  He was always out there making lemonade and Goldy was now also baking. George knew a man who knew a man who said they were going to close the stand down because the kids didn’t have a licence.

Should George sell all the cards, he wasn’t sure how much he could get for them now?

Bobby didn’t want silly cards, he wanted a canopy, a canopy to give him and Goldy and his customers good shade in the summer for his lemonade stall; a local enterprise that the whole, local neighborhood agreed was a gem, was a neighborhood thriving business.

Unfortunately Dad backed George, buying into the theory that might is right.

Dad was also intimidated by the bureaucrat, clipboard in hand who had come to call.

Dad did promise to buy Bobby a canopy for Christmas, but it was too little, too late. It would be cold for a lemonade stand in December, no canopy would be needed.  And maybe, after all long before then, the city would close down the best lemonade stand in the neighborhood.

This is how two enthusiastic and enterprising entrepreneurs bit the dust.

Of course they could still work their lemonade stand without a canopy, that is until the nearby bakery persuaded the authorities that they were stealing his business.

“What?” said Bobby.

“Regulations are designed to protect established businesses that pay taxes,” said Dad.

“Duh?”

The lemonade stand continued for a brief while for it was still popular but it wasn’t the same. Then the city closed them down.

Neither Bobby, nor Goldy would ever recover from the betrayal after trust. It would stay with them and limit them as entrepreneurs for the rest of their lives.

**********

mom&PopPurists argue that we should let the big banks be forced into bankruptcy for that is how a free market system works. The American voter thinks this banking danger has gone away, but all that has happened is that it has been swept under a dirty carpet that is still big banking today.

It all comes back to a good law deliberately wiped out for banking greed and one inept President who lacked any kind of personal integrity.

 ***********

Bobby said to his Dad, “I think I will put my money in a real bank next time.”

Oh yeah?

Until the banks get their act together not such a good idea Bobby?

Understanding the Unrest in America

(Updated- 4th July)

draintheswampA few of us knew that Trump was going to be the next President; and how did we know this? We read his books and studied his record and realized that when Trump decides something, that is the way it is going to be. America rejected Global, Sharia Law and American Marxism when we elected Trump. America also rejected the progressive mantra that “might is right” in favor of “rule of law” and “balance of power”. We assumed the responsibility to learn our heritage. Not all have taken the time.

The opposition is now out of the closet. Some of the ugly opposition is innocuous, uninformed with mere ideological differences. This is fine, our system allows for differences.  Unfortunately, there are still many on the LEFT like Mika and Joe Scarborough (MSM) who cannot believe that the majority in America actually want to keep our Constitution, our Civilized Culture and our Religious Liberty; sorry folks the popular vote false narrative is propaganda: doesn’t hold water when you look at the real numbers of voter fraud Judicial Watch is bringing to light.  Furthermore when you add in the numbers from third party candidates, it is abundantly clear that in November 2016, America was leaning right. Trump won the electoral college with a landslide, but most likely he also won the (legal) popular vote.

Clear evidence that “the Resistance” is being orchestrated by Obama and funded by SOROS – sick. This is not just an attack on Trump but also clearly a direct attack on our American form of government, our culture and our heritage. This swamp WILL be drained.

shadow-gvt

Wanted or not by the shady & the corrupt, Donald Trump is our President and he is going to serve out eight years, as the 45th President of America.

So why all the noisy upset?

One: Swamp-dwellers
There were/are a lot of people who now stand to lose an unfair advantage and unfair privilege.

  • Sanctuary Cities
  • Federal Money given to EPA used for political advantage or protecting the silly “smelt in California” while central California tasked with feeding the nation, turns into a dust bowl. Gallons of water dumped into the sea during a drought.
  • Illegal immigrants and Refugees living off the public dole when some of our children are starving and our veterans are being neglected
  • Those gaming the legislative process
  • Teachers protected by seniority and not judged on their performance.
  • Government workers insisting on high wages and demanding high benefits, but failing the public they serve.
  • Those in high office like Clinton betraying her public trust, taking bribes (bribes laundered through the Clinton Foundation)
  • Those in high office like Clinton choosing to set up her records on a public server (SO THAT HER EMAILS COULD NEVER BE SOUGHT BY JUDICIAL WATCH ON A FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST)
  • Lots of little bureaucrats raking it in on the side.
  • Main Stream Media owned by Global Interests and engaged in bias and slander, actively STIRRING THE POT.  Advertisers support MSM because they have been persuaded they control our thinking. Trump, the GOP and the The election in Georgia showed Hollywood and MSM just how irrelevant they have become.
  • There is a sick culture of moral decay and decline in Hollywood. They are also fighting the digital revolution.  We can write a song, write a book and self-publish. Hollywood relies on a rigged system government to enforce “intellectual rights”
  • Big Pharma making a killing from Government patents and regulations that protect their unfair monopoly – why can’t we buy our drugs in Canada or Mexico? Why can’t HMOs compete across state lines? Why all this government protection?
  • Farmers getting subsidies long out of date. Monsanto (GMO) permitted to hide what they are doing to poison our food.
  • Investors like George SOROS using arcane investing rules to  profit from an economic decline. (Then they use their new found wealth and power to attack our leader and our constitution)
  • People on welfare now having to learn a trade and begin to support self and family and the nation.
  • Abortion clinics relying on public funding. I am in favor of women’s choice but there is something wrong with a taxpayer being forced to fund abortions.
  • “Bad Hombres” pushing drugs into America.  The states where most drugs go are where we find the loudest protests (sad) .
    mexican-drug-infilitration
  • We begin to understand the opposition to Trump better when we realize just how much money the elites in the media and in Hollywood  stand to lose when Trump exposes their corruption, and their part in it.
  • We begin to understand the opposition to Trump much, much better when we realize just how much money the crooked elites (Obama bribes) in Government are losing under Trump. (see opensecrets.org)
  • And finally there are the neocons trying to stir up a war with Russia.  Clear evidence that Trump is being demonized, but Putin even more so.  McCain and Lindsay Graham (both generously funded by Soros) were recently in the Ukraine and what were they doing there? Good Americans don’t pursue imperial goals, and we don’t meddle in the affairs of other countries for such is unconstitutional.
  • Then there is the United Nations. with envious third world nations with their greedy hands outstretched and we can help them, but not by giving them a hand-out. There is no reason that America is rich and Africa is poor, except for our form of government, and our creative innovation. Obama had perfected the art of using the idle poor to give to the idle rich.  Luckily Trump sees through this, and has ended this stealing from the taxpayers of America.

So many crooked, unhappy people in the world. No wonder they are terrified of Trump, Trump who is able to expose their nasty secrets with a single tweet!

Two: American Marxism
The unrest (by observation) is not spontaneous. We will never win in America if we allow other interests to subvert & divide us.

Definition of black propaganda – with lies and innuendo seeking to falsify perception, or to create a false reality to justify a criminal act.

We know that this uprising is orchestrated because the demonstrators follow the same style book in every city, not just in America, proving a global strategy.

pullharderThe organized protesters shout obscenities, start fires, destroy property., these are tactics employed in times past by Stalin and Lenin.  Sadly, Marxists have been subverting our educational institutions and our youth during the terms of the last four presidents, all who favored the NWO.  It takes but a generation to steal a nation. This cries out for a full Congressional Investigation.

This Marxist influence has been blamed on Russia but that is contrary to the fact that Putin is now anti- communism and seems to genuinely believe that Communism doesn’t work. Putin/Russia has nothing to gain by subverting America. On the other hand the oligarchies of the NWO who want to rule the world, have seen an opportunity in socialism.  (Saul Allinsky)

It is an axiom of political warfare that it is not wise to assassinate popular opponents except as a last resort. Better to invalidate them in the public mind. A part of this war tactic is to pick a popular target and demonize him, blaming him for the violence.  Is this not what we are seeing with Trump? They picked the wrong man, I don’t think Trump is going to crumble.

“If you want to understand what is going on in America today, just think of the Branch Davidians. If the elites can sufficiently demonize Donald Trump and his supporters as racists or something equally repugnant, then violence against him personally or against his supporters – perhaps even violence against the system itself – will be viewed as justified.”  Need to Know News

Three: The Muslim Brotherhood
Our democratic process was designed to resolve BIG ideological differences. It has kept us away from civil war. It would have done so again were we not subverted and divided by evil within.  There is growing circumstantial evidence of infiltration of the SOROS/Obama/Hillary and the Progressive movement by the Muslim Brotherhood – an orchestrated world movement to change our culture and bring the western world to its knees, under Sharia Law.  This also cries out for Congressional investigation.

In part it is payback time for the wars in the middle East brought on by the neocons WHO ARE NOT AMERICA. We are complicit only in that we allowed it to happen.

Note: America is now at #4 on this chart while England at #7.

Note: America is now at #4 on this chart while England is at #7.

Those who love Donald Trump see that . . .

  • He has observed that America is in trouble, and he has decided that he is the one to make America Great Again.
  • He has the unique ability to attract honorable and able men to his side. None can challenge the production records of Pence or Ben Carson or their spiritual integrity. That they love him speaks well for Donald Trump.
  • He wants to see us safe. He wants to bring back order to America.
  • He is transparent, and tells it like it is. This is likable.
  • He understands finance; and this is something we badly need, it has become beyond vital to fix the failing economy before the next economic bubble pops (derivatives)
  • His plan to lower taxes on the rich is coming under attack, yet what he proposes is fair and a gradient approach to handle income inequality
  • What his enemies don’t realize is that he only hits back when attacked, yet when he retaliates the counter-attack is brilliant and brutal. This president fights fire with fire.,

We all know that electing  an outsider to be President is a big step. One thing to consider though, “Constitutional  Republicanism” is so far superior to “Progressive Democracy” with its support of  “coercive government” that there is really no choice. The Left fears that Trump would be a HItler, this is the pot calling the shiny kettle black. Hitler will never come to America while we keep our constitution.

Let me clarify; In a Republic, government rules only with consent of the governed. In a global or progressive administration “Might is Right” and autocratic rule, big brother, and bullying are all fully acceptable.

This “Might is Right” is the corrupt thinking the founders left behind when America first became a nation. And that folks is what was at stake in 2016.

We could have lost America.

Understanding Trade

Not all Trade Deals are Good for America

With ObamaTrade the devil is in the details, hidden from Congress & the American people

Why does America seek Trade agreements?  We all agree we are better off if we trade with our neighbors, so what is the deal here?   While many Trade deals are good and put America First with ObamaTrade the American Citizen loses out. It is a lot worse than that though, with ObamaTrade America gives up her sovereignty.

This is serious guys. No vote should be cast on this lightly.

This is a Trade Deal destroys our Sovereignty

This is a Trade Deal destroys our Sovereignty

The TPA was sneaked through the Senate at the end of May 2015, and this was largely a matter of timing. It was put through when all eyes were on Rand Paul and his epic filibuster. Despite feeble efforts to inject it with continuing life, Paul forced the Patriot Act to die an ignoble death. This was something good.

However, there was something else happening in the wings? With a lot of bribe money in his back pocket, Obama was hard and fast working the politicians in Congress to get TPA approved.  And he succeeded. TPA is designed to give the President (and his executive branch) the sole authority to negotiate trade treaties and and in the face of this, Congress becomes almost irrelevant. Not a good scene, the imbalance between the Legislature, the Judiciary and the Executive was already out of whack, and this just made it even worse.

unconstitutionalA lot of money went into getting TPA passed; paid for by the U.S. Business Coalition for TPP. Donors to the Coalition were Goldman Sachs, followed closely by Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and members of the military industrial complex, which included GE, Halliburton and Northrop Grumman. The Coalition bought Senate support for $1,148,971 being given as bribes to senators, an average of $19,673.28 for Republicans and $9,689.23 for Democrats.

TPA was enacted to ensure fast passage TPP, otherwise called ObamaTrade.

Does this tell you anything?

What congressional rights did Congress give up with the passage of TPA?

Congress gave up the power to write legislation, the power to amend legislation, the power to fully examine legislation, the power to predict and investigate the consequences to a specific bill.  In addition Congress gave up the chance to keep debate open until cloture. Most of all Congress gave up the constitutional requirement that Trade-treaties can only be approved  by a full two-thirds vote.

Both Presidential candidates have said they will disapprove ObamaTrade (TPP) However this is a global play, and Clinton if anything, is a global candidate who was for TPP before she was against it.  Still . . .

Obama is back with even more (I suspect) Global bribe money He wants to get TPP approved during the lame duck session. So in order to be sure to get presidential approval he has to get it signed WHILE HE IS STILL PRESIDENT. What better time than around the holidays after all the excitement of the election when nobody is looking. He is still calling the shots, yet nobody is seeing it like that, he has legal power. Expect another titillating controversy to absorb our protest and attention while he sneaks it through.

Why would this would be a disaster?

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is not TPA, that now a done deal. It is a complex and convoluted legislation that has been shrouded in secrecy. Few of the Congressmen who will finally have to ratify it, have even read it.

TPP (ObamaTrade) is a trade agreement among twelve Pacific Rim countries. The finalized proposal was signed on 4 February 2016 in Auckland, New Zealand, concluding seven years of negotiations. However IT IS NOT LAW UNTIL RATIFIED BY CONGRESS in an up down vote which now only has to get a 50% majority.

Donald Trump says, there are good and bad Trade Deals. and this is one abomination. How so? With this new trading block we have something akin to the EU set up, with a bureaucratic stranglehold on true free Trade. True free trade is good, but this is not that.

There is a lot in ObamaTrade that has nothing whatsoever to do with trade:

  1. Strong patent protection rules for Big Pharma. This increases cost of medications globally, putting a burden on the global poor
  2. Changes to the USA copyright law. Under the TPP, copyright terms for individuals would go from life of the author plus 50 years to life of the author plus 70 years.
  3. Worst of all are the International-Investor Tribunals. There are provisions that grant foreign investors the right to sue governments on the basis of vague and broad obligations regarding loss of “expected” profits. Such suits would not be decided by judges appointed for life in the American courts which subordinate to the Constitution. Where special interests appoint both the judge and the jury we can expect arbitrary justice.Let me give an example. It seems Goldman Sachs may have had a part in the crash of the Greek economy (done with currency finagling) So let’s just say the Greek people wake up and elect a new government.  They are good people and want to follow rule of law.

inijustrice

So they investigate the situation and yes they think there are financial crimes. They are quite sure there are financial crimes. They sue

Any chance of them winning? Wake up to the real world, now dominated by TPP. The court finds for Goldman Sachs, after all did they not lose profits?

So we are about to subject our jurisprudence to tribunals appointed by the corporate oligarchies. Might is right and there will be no justice. America has been snookered into losing her sovereignty.

You see Obama Trade operates ABOVE THE CONSTITUTION. With this transfer of authority legislators give up their god given right to do their job as defined by the constitution.

Sadly there is an unhealthy imbalance between the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary; ObamaTrade makes this far worse.

jobsAnd finally jobs, jobs, jobs  which just happens to be our weakest area. TPP like NAFTA & TAFTA will steal jobs from good Americans.

Yes Donald Trump, there are good deals and bad deals and this one is an abomination.

 Where to from Here?

So what really happened when TPA was railroaded through the Senate when nobody was looking? Did we lose our country? And what of the everyday citizens and taxpayers of America? Do we still have any of the rights left given us in the Constitution?

The people of America do not like the TPP; polls show this clearly. RINOs beware.  Polls show an overwhelming majority oppose TPP and they are out there on Social Media howling their outrage. Politicians who support TPP should wake up and smell the coffee and vote their conscience and for America and not for their back pocket.

Polls or voting won’t defeat TPP; it’s too far along. It is only if we stand together to oppose this assault on our constitution, our heritage and our rights; if we stand up and speak out, and get right in the face of power, will the people be able to overcome TPP’s plutocracy.

These words were spoken by the Libertarian candidate in Politics IOU ( the Election that Spooked the Elites)

Understanding Global (July Fourth 2017)

What does it mean to be American?

It means you love your country, and you understand your constitution.

It means you are willing to fight to keep your heritage.

It means you always put your country first.

statue-fireworksOn this special day, although there is not yet a civil war, there is a fierce PR war and each American needs to decide where he stands.

The global oligarchies with gobs of money, and mighty paid political consultants spin a fancy theme. Do your homework, be sure you find and fully understand the hidden agenda. Examine these mind blowing facts.and then make your choice.

Remember the choice is simple. Elite vs American Patriot. The truth is always hidden in complexity.

International Elite vs American Patriot

A little history; Our nation’s story began in 1776. and by 1900 American steel production had outstripped that of all other nations. The USA had over 200,000 miles of railroads by 1914, more than all the rest of the world put together. An abundance of American farm products and manufactured goods were being shipped abroad in American-made ships. A healthy balance of trade to say the least.

Sadly, the latter part of the 19th century a new corrupt aristocracy was forming, namely “corrupt captains of industry” bankers, traders and manufacturers, sometimes called “the Robber Barons”.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Big government was invented to bring “The Robber Barons”  to heel.  And so the progressive movement was launched. Move forward to the twenty-first century where under Obama it culminated in an out-of control nanny-state and  an out of control crooked, coercive progressive movement. Then along came Trump.

This is America’s third crisis, the first was when we won freedom from England and “might is right” corrupt royals.  The second was the Civil War and the third has been playing out for a long time. This is a systematic assault on our heritage and the fundamentals of the Constitutional Republic.  The fight is now out of the closet and America is waking up. It is time to re-evaluate where we are going? Digital (computers) have accelerated a movement towards a secret one-world government percolating for well over a century.

What is the New World Order? It is is a group of international elites who truly believe they know what is best for us, and for the world. Some are sincere, some favor it so they can keep an unfair privilege. In this second tier we find the companies who have  successfully sidestepped anti-trust laws Amazon, Google, Facebook, Montsanto and, yes Saudi Arabia. If you google New World Order you will find a list of all such oligarchies. You will also find them attending the CFR (Council for Foreign Relations) and the Bilderberg meetings.

Power corrupts and absolute Power corrupts absolutely

In a New World Order there would be an end to nation-states. Global oligarchies which already control the world, would begin to do so openly, now they still do it in secret. They would create obedient zones, North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, demonstrably corrupt and easy for global oligarchies to dominate.

At first glance the global idea may seem to have benefits for mankind, certainly it has an appeal to the international elite, the next strata down from the top one percent. These second-tier global players have accumulated wealth throughout the last century.  This is the strata of billionaire players who have learned to game the system in their better (often immoral) interests.

More than any other industry, international banking has profited from GLOBAL. Today (although they are declining in number) we have more investment bankers than lawyers, doctors, or those who build things. In order to make America Great e are going to have to do an audit of the banking investment rules.  Dangerous to our nation is the banking mis-handling of futures and derivatives.

The New World Order is being sold to all as a world without war, with equality and fairness for the benefit of all world citizens. When we look a little deeper we see that we are being played.

Who stands to lose most under a Trump presidency. Is it not those who profit from an unfair elite advantage? “America First” stands in direct opposition to the NWO with its open borders and the arrogant right to move people around the world like pawns in a chess game, and to block reproduction. In a global order there is no room for an American Constitution with its balance of power.

Patriots do not want war, especially a war that does not serve America. Therefore the new Trump era is presenting a challenge to Global and the corrupt Military Industrial Complex and the treasonous Deep State (who serve their global masters)  The rot at the FBI reached its highest levels under the Obama Administration and FBI Director Comey

It seems the New World Order is breaking up with the death of Rockefeller and Zbigniew Brzenski, architects of the global order.  What remains as a threat to America is the fallout.  American Marxism/International Socialism is still being pushed by George Soros, Obama & Antifa. Also to be watched is Islam, Sharia has a global component and with its use of violence against civilians, must be called out as an immoral religion. Not all Muslims are bad but the onus is on them to progress as a group and a religion, beyond terrorism.

Socialism is very attractive to the global oligarchies who hold an inordinate amount of power in the world. Far easier to dominate and control. This is why “treaties” like the Paris Accord and TPP/TPA Trade deals are so dangerous for America.  HIdden in the small print are rules and regulations that have not been subjected to congressional oversight and the consent of the governed and tend to benefit corrupt global players. The Trade deals Trump rejected set up a whole system of courts that were given more power than our American  judiciary.

shadow-gvt

And what of war? Both Obama and Bush and other presidents have bypassed Congress taking our country into a series of endless wars that have not benefited Americans.  There is a lot of international money in armaments.

NOTE WELL: Article One Section Eight of the Constitution says “To CONGRESS is given the power to declare war.” War may only be declared by Congress (after due investigation, inspection AND DELIBERATION of the facts. Hostilities against a neutral state are also seen as acts of war and not mere violations of neutrality. Under Presidents Obama and Bush the Executive violated the Constitution in its foreign policy and caused harm and yes, there have been consequences.

So the propaganda that global brings peace, it just doesn’t hold water. On the contrary. Patriots, working together and honoring our differences with no intent to DOMINATE and no coercive use of BIG GOVERNMENT, this is what makes for world peace.

When we look back in history we see that we prospered when we followed our constitution. It is the constitution that polices corruption.

Could it be that when our lawmakers all learn and fully understand and follow the constitution that there will again be peace and prosperity?

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

For nearly a century, the world has depended on the protection and leadership provided by a strong, independent United States of America. Considering the corruption that absolute power always seems to bring, a powerful world government would be a catastrophe.

There has been a deliberate effort for over almost a century for global players to destroy our Constitutional Republic. Trump put the people front and foremost and promised  GOVERNMENT ONLY WITH THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED.

Conclusion
Thanks to this election, more Americans are researching, reading books, going to the Twitter feeds of our leaders, and attending rallies. Many have assumed a responsibility to find out the truth FOR THEMSELVES, and many more share their realizations with others in social media. They see we are under assualt.

My father was not an American but he would have loved America. He had a warm heart, a nimble mind and a free spirit. I could always rely on his wisdom during troubled times. Sadly thanks to the unchecked global corruption of the past fifty years, (four past GLOBAL presidents) America and the world has entered into troubled times. Can we trust the creators of the New World Order to have our better interests at heart?

Dad said, “In troubled times mend your relationships and reinforce your roots.”

With this in mind I signed up for this free online course on the American Constitution (one hour a week for ten weeks). There I found solutions. I also  found it liberating in these troubled times.  There is freedom in understanding what good government is. Guess what it is always only government with and by consent of the people.

What we don’t want is a global agenda where we are being played. We don’t want a movement operating in secret designed to keep for some an unfair and corrupt advantage. We don’t want a skewered system.

Much depends on Donald Trump and how well he and his Team-Trump understands global.

Why we cannot Trust Hillary with our Foreign Policy

Hillary Rejects ‘
America First’

By Patrick J. Buchanan

Clinton to Paint Trump as a Risk to World Order.”

The Global Elite
Thus did page one of Thursday’s New York Times tee up Hillary Clinton’s big San Diego speech on foreign policy.

Inside the Times, the headline was edited to underline the point:

“Clinton to Portray Trump as Risk to the World.”

The Times promoted the speech as “scorching,” a “sweeping and fearsome portrayal of Mr. Trump, one that the Clinton campaign will deliver like a drumbeat to voters in the coming months.”

What is happening here?

As Donald Trump is splitting off blue-collar Democrats on issues like America’s broken borders and Bill Clinton’s trade debacles like NAFTA, Hillary Clinton is trying to peel off independents and Republicans by painting Trump as “temperamentally unfit” to be commander in chief.

Clinton contends that a Trump presidency would be a national embarrassment, that his ideas are outside the bipartisan mainstream of U.S. foreign policy, and that he is as contemptuous of our democratic allies as he is solicitous of our antidemocratic adversaries.

In portraying Trump as an intolerable alternative, Clinton will find echoes in the GOP establishment and among the Kristol-Kagan neocons, many of whom have already signed an open letter rejecting Trump.

William Kristol has recruited one David French to run on a National Review-Weekly Standard line to siphon off just enough votes from the GOP nominee to tip a couple of swing states to Clinton.

Robert Kagan contributed an op-ed to a welcoming Washington Post saying the Trump campaign is “how fascism comes to America.”

Yet, if Clinton means to engage on foreign policy, this is not a battle Trump should avoid. For the lady has an abysmal record on foreign policy and a report card replete with failures.

PathillaryAs senator, Clinton voted to authorize President Bush to attack and invade a nation, Iraq, that had not attacked us and did not want war with us.

Clinton calls it her biggest mistake, another way of saying that the most important vote she ever cast proved disastrous for her country, costing 4,500 U.S. dead and a trillion dollars.

That invasion was the worst blunder in U.S. history and a contributing factor to the deepening disaster of the Middle East, from which, it appears, we will not soon be able to extricate ourselves.

As secretary of state, Clinton supported the unprovoked U.S.-NATO attack on Libya and joked of the lynching of Moammar Gadhafi, “We came. We saw. He died.”

Yet, even Barack Obama now agrees the Libyan war was started without advance planning for what would happen when Gadhafi fell. And that lack of planning, that failure in which Clinton was directly involved, Obama now calls the worst mistake of his presidency.

Is Clinton’s role in pushing for two wars, both of which resulted in disasters for her country and the entire Middle East, something to commend her for the presidency of the United States?

Is the slogan to be, “Let Hillary clean up the mess she helped to make?”

Whether or not Clinton was complicit in the debacle in Benghazi, can anyone defend her deceiving the families of the fallen by talking about finding the evildoer who supposedly made the videotape that caused it all?

Even then, she knew better.

How many other secretaries of state have been condemned by their own inspector general for violating the rules for handling state secrets, for deceiving investigators, and for engaging, along with that cabal she brought into her secretary’s office, in a systematic stonewall to keep the department from learning the truth?

Where in all of this is there the slightest qualification, other than a honed instinct for political survival, for Clinton to lead America out of the morass into which she, and the failed foreign policy elite nesting around her, plunged the United States?

If Trump will stay true to his message, he can win the foreign policy debate, and the election, because what he is arguing for is what Americans want.

They do not want any more Middle East wars. They do not want to fight Russians in the Baltic or Ukraine, or the Chinese over some rocks in the South China Sea.

They understand that, as Truman had to deal with Stalin, and Ike with Khrushchev, and Nixon with Brezhnev, and Reagan with Gorbachev, a U.S. president should sit down with a Vladimir Putin to avoid a clash neither country wants, and from which neither country would benefit.

The coming Clinton-neocon nuptials have long been predicted in this space. They have so much in common. They belong with each other.

But this country will not survive as the last superpower if we do not shed this self-anointed role as the “indispensable nation” that makes and enforces the rules for the “rules-based world order,” and that acts as first responder in every major firefight on earth.

What Trump has hit upon, what the country wants, is a foreign policy designed to protect the vital interests of the United States, and a president who will — ever and always — put America first.

Note from Grandma Thunder

Two things to think about regarding American Foreign Policy

The world is a mess, economically and politically. Persons of goodwill and those who can see, know that the next president inherits a foreign policy disaster.

In 2016 with Donald Trump with America First, we finally have a chance to fix it up

“If my sons did not want wars, there would be none.” Gutle Schnaper. –Mayer Amschel Rothschild’s wife.

Hillary has a cozy, close relationship with the Rothchilds, a family that has profited from war over the last century.

Kissinger & the constitutionMore than any other person, the un-American, evil  Henry Kissinger has defined American foreign policy over the last half century.

“The Illegal we do immediately – the un-constitutional takes a little longer” said Kissinger.

Hillary has a cozy, close relationship with Henry Kissinger.

Of the two candidates based on their record and their connections and their emotional tone, it seems more likely that Hillary would lead us into war than Donald Trump.

We keep our fingers crossed and keep them both in our prayers.

Will the Debates influence the Election Outcome?

It seems to us that Main Stream Media has forgotten we have a country in trouble and this is the time for all men of good will to work together to turn it around and fix it up.

Genuine emotion, is it a factor in an election?

Although not reported thus by MSM, Hillary lost the first debate because she was supercilious, smug and took her campaign down into the gutter.  Small minded Lester Holt must also be held accountable for wasting our time on trivia; beauty queens and the silly birther issue long ago settled. I am speaking on behalf of independents and new voters.

Our Future

    Our Future

Breaking news: Hillary Clinton is taking no responsibility for the plight of millennials.

I quote from Breitbart News: “Some are new to politics completely. They’re children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement,” Clinton adds. “They feel they got their education and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envisioned for themselves. And they don’t see much of a future.”

She continues, “If you’re feeling like you’re consigned to, you know, being a barista, or you know, some other job that doesn’t pay a lot, and doesn’t have some other ladder of opportunity attached to it, then the idea that maybe, just maybe, you could be part of a political revolution is pretty appealing.”

Of course what is omitted is Bill’s complicity in the Crash of 2008, and her own support of the Iraq war. These are the two events that stole away the opportunity and future from the New Millennials.

Examine these mind blowing facts

Ben Carson, Donald Trump and on the other side of the aisle, Bernie Sanders are for the people, and intend to create a more equitable society for all.

 About Bad Lobbying:

corporate greed

About Bad Banking

Ex President Jimmy Carter called America an oligarchy with unlimited bribery. Definition of oligarchy: a government in which a small group of elites, exercises control for corrupt and selfish purposes.  (Merriam Webster)

The international socialist cabal operating behind the scenes in the White House, and the corrupt crony capitalists working on K Street, and the Banking Oligarchies working with the FED, are NOW running scared because it seems they fear they cannot bribe Trump and Carson or Sanders or bring them to heel.

third partyFor a decade or more they have persuaded conservatives to NOT increase taxes on the banking class; never tax the rich. That is true, but only if you are talking about the productive rich. There is a significant difference between facilitating production (making things) and the casino-like profits made by banksters and investors. There has been much concern about the dwindling middle class. This inequity won’t be handled until the economic “rules of the game” no longer unfairly benefit bankers and investors.

What would happen to the Global Elites if Bernie were able to redistribute the wealth of the one percent? What would happen to them if Trump were able to stop up these corrupt laws that protect their rigged privilege?

Bernie favors taxing the rich to provide for free education, and free healthcare for all. This little man is gutsy, honest and he cares for the American voter – just one glitch in his plan. Thanks to the Digital Revolution the rich now take and hide their wealth in little hidden pockets all over the globe; in places far outside the jurisdiction of the IRS. Trump calls on the “investor class” to account for their unfair share of the assets in the economy. Trump understands they do not exchange value for value and he has promised to undo their false privilege. He will reform Wall Street.

There is a real simple FIX to both the housing stress and the Student loan crisis:
CONGRESS MUST CANCEL BANKING COMPOUND INTEREST and we need a president who would sign this reform legislation.  No chance for that to happen if Clinton is president – she favors the elite (banksters) over we the people.  But with Trump who like Bernie is not beholden to the banking crowd there is hope. Bernie tried, he tried hard but he failed. We have to wonder what they have on him.

What is the difference between these two candidates?

  • Bernie feels for the Latinos Trump concerned about taxes and the  economy, while wants to send back home illegal Latinos.
  • Bernie wants to tax the rich and fund good things like education. Nice but what is the point if no jobs after graduation?
  • Trump wants to reform Wall Street and BRING BACK JOB OPPORTUNITY.
Trump is more focused on an economic recovery

How interesting it would have been to have debate BETWEEN TWO HONEST CANDIDATES EACH WITH TRUE FOLLOWING (Bernie said would need an enormous arena – right)  Both Trump and Bernie stand for something and both have a true following.  Both have a true moral compass and both genuinely want to fix Wall Street. Both care about America and Americans and the future. Both are focused on education. On the other side of the aisle we have the globalists

Do you wonder why globalists are so desperate to have crooked Hillary elected? Do you see why it would be such a bad idea?

Over the last half century the corrupt corporate and banking spoils have been enormous, especially in 2008 when the banks, and the auto industry were bailed out. The FED even used American taxpayer money to bail out foreign banks.  And what has been the consequence? The big banks are now bigger than ever before. The American taxpayer is at much or more at risk NOW than 2008 after eight years of Obama. Neither Hillary nor phony Obama have a good production record.

Obama's legacy

The attack on Ben Carson (before he dropped out) is interesting. Ben Carson came out and said clearly in one debate that HE WOULD NOT BAIL OUT THE BANKS. Since Ben Carson joined Trump, his influence is now even bigger. Ben Carson is Black and being successful in the GOP, calls the “racist” lie. How can Donald Trump use Ben Carson as one of his main advisers, and he is black? No Trump is not a racist, ample proof to the contrary.

Do you see what we are really talking about here a whole lot of money up for grabs. We are also talking about an elite corporate industry, an international pharmaceutical industry and banking industries with no moral compass. And one more point when talking NWO, Soros’s hand in world affairs may be unknown to some. He is best known for manipulating the overthrow of Slobadan Milosivicin 2000, the “Rose Revolution” of 2003 and the 2006 push of Turkey into Sharia law. He works with paid agitators at political rallies. Go figure?

Bernie’s weakness was his connection to Soros, th violence of Black Lives Matter.  and Moveon.Org funded by Soros rejected by most millennials.

Many Americans do not know about the secretive New World Order but they are waking up. Hillary is a very secretive person. You have to realize that she was carefully chosen by the elites to be president in 2016. According to (Open Secrets Blog) she promised Goldman Sachs, banking as usual. Is this why she won’t release the transcripts of her speeches?

As we move from spring into the summer of 2016, the gloves are finally off. Obama and Bill and Hillary are openly talking New World Order, an order with no constitution or balance of power and not grounded in any kind of moral code. All indications are it will be coercive. At every turn these global elites fight our first and second constitutional amendments. They are using the simple and genuine progressives to do their dirty deeds.

There will be no end to the attack on Trump & even Ben Carson in the media until they crumble and creep back into the mold, and until we all slide back into poverty.

Bernie is gone. They would not even let his signs be displayed at the Democratic Convention. They put up “white sound boxes” to make sure there were no Bernie protesters giving the wrong message. By selecting Tim Kaine Hillary signaled to the Bernie crowd reforming Wall Street is not a part of her agenda. Axelrod is now part of CNN a donor for the Hillary campaign. So much for the objectivity of the press.

They won’t cease their ugly attacks until the Global elites, the Democratic Elites, and the GOP Elites get back the comfort of banking as usual and politics as usual.

If Hillary wins there will be more income inequality.

If Trump wins there is just a small chance there will be an economic recovery.

The high cost of illegal immigration

This problem has yet to be solved.

900 teachers just got laid off from the Los Angeles Unified School District.

The following by an English teacher helps to explain one area that looms large over California’s educational crisis.

FROM A CALIFORNIA SCHOOL TEACHER – – –
“As you listen to the news about the student protests over illegal immigration, there are some things that you should be aware of:

kid crying

I am in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at a large Southern California high school which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socioeconomic and income levels. Most of the schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park , etc., where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools.

Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast and free lunch program. When I say free breakfast, I’m not talking a glass of milk and a roll — but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make the Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten (OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!)

I estimate that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones. The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for babysitters or having family watch their kids

I was ordered to spend $700,000 on my department or risk losing funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything; my budget was already substantial. I ended up buying new computers for the computer learning center, half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America

I have had to intervene several times for young substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country less than 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them putas (whores ) and throwing things, that the teachers were in tears.

To those who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs.

Americans, We need to wake up!

The problem here is a all about culture: A third-world culture that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15, and that refuses to assimilate, and an American culture that has become so weak and worried about “political correctness” that we don’t have the will to put in proper control.

BUSINESS DOESN’T WANT TO PAY A DECENT WAGE.

CONSUMERS DON’T WANT EXPENSIVE PRODUCE.

GOVERNMENT WILL TELL YOU, “AMERICANS DON’T WANT THE JOBS.”

But the bottom line is cheap labor. The phrase “cheap labor” is a myth, a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as “cheap labor.” Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children. He takes a job for $5.00 or $6.00/hour. At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return, he gets an “earned income credit” of up to $3,200 free.

HE QUALIFIES FOR SECTION 8 HOUSING AND SUBSIDIZED RENT.

HE QUALIFIES FOR FOOD STAMPS.

HE QUALIFIES FOR FREE (NO DEDUCTIBLE), NO CO-PAY) HEALTH CARE.

HIS CHILDREN GET FREE BREAKFASTS AND LUNCHES AT SCHOOL.

HE REQUIRES BILINGUAL TEACHERS AND BOOKS.

HE QUALIFIES FOR RELIEF FROM HIGH ENERGY BILLS.

IF THEY ARE OR BECOME AGED, BLIND OR DISABLED, THEY QUALIFY FOR SSI.

ONCE QUALIFIED FOR SSI THEY CAN QUALIFY FOR MEDICARE.

TAXPAYERS PROVIDE SPANISH LANGUAGE SIGNS, BULLETINS AND PRINTED MATERIAL.

THEN ALSO WE NEED TO PAY FOR CLEAN-UP OF THE GRAFFITI AND THE TRASH CLEANUP.

HE AND HIS FAMILY RECEIVE THE EQUIVALENT OF $20.00 TO $30.00/HOUR IN BENEFITS.

WORKING AMERICANS ARE LUCKY TO HAVE $5.00 OR $6.00/HOUR LEFT AFTER PAYING ALL OF THEIR BILLS AND HIS.

CHEAP LABOR?  YEAH RIGHT!  WAKE UP PEOPLE!

free ride

                   Quote for the Week

Secure our borders first. Let us know and let us make sure the American people know that we’re taking care of the important business of dealing with the illegal immigration into this country. You cannot begin to address the concerns of the people who are already here unless and until you have made certain that no more are coming in behind them.

Expect the Best, but prepare for the Worst

Are banks buying politicians in an effort to keep an unfair privilege?
(See contributions to Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton)  Too many voters have their heads like ostriches in the sand.

money in 2016Seeing their darling on the left (Hillary) hit the skids and their favorite on the right (Jeb Bush) in sad decline, the reaction of the banking industry reminds me of a cat I once had.
She was placid, until one morning some dogs backed her into a corner. Then she lost it.

You only have to watch some of the Club for Growth negative ads to wonder if they have lost it.  Don’t they realize they are on the wrong side of history. 2016 is the year when the negative ads finally stop working. This 2016 electorate wants positive, STRONG solutions.

Now this cat, she bit and clawed and screeched and pounced and even although we saved her, she was never the same again.  She was irascible, unpredictable and mean. Possibly this had been her basic personality all along.

So the big question is, are the banking elites frightened that their unfair privilege is about to come to an end? Is this becoming a vital factor in Election 2016? Are the statists and now the conservative elites (crony capitalists)  frightened because they can’t buy Trump?

There is a situation here that the next President will have to face, and it is going to take a very strong man (Trump or Cruz) to bring us through.

Hello! It is finally time to face the facts of this economy.

No, it is not all doom and gloom, it is a situation that can still be fixed but only if we choose wisely in the next election.

In a nutshell here is the situation:  In spite of a bottomless pit of FED money creation, the debt is unsustainable; the “created” income inequality is finally being seen and understood by voters and they are resenting the injustice.. Stop gap measures to settle out the protest  like food stamps are only making matters worse.  Past efforts by the banksters to pin the blame elsewhere are no longer working. On Twitter and Facebook we learn that with the crash of 2008, only the immediate danger was handled but ethics and correction and reorganization NEVER WENT IN. All the money printed by the FED to bail out the banks, and to “stimulate the economy” didn’t go to the people; it went right back to the banks. The biggest danger: derivatives  could be the next bubble to pop and make life mighty hard on main street.

inijustrice

We are going to have to wake up and realize that we need a STRONG and good president!. Please read the following:

” As my fellow Heritage colleague Norbert Michel and other scholars have thoroughly documented, the crash of 2008 was caused by government policies and regulatory failure, including easy money policies that flooded the markets with debt. Within a decade, these policies led to preposterous mortgage loans being issued, and massive over-leverage of government, companies, and households.

Now the Fed, the White House, and Congress are recreating the very same conditions for another financial bubble. If it pops, we could replay the same devastating effects as occurred during the first bubble in 1999 and 2000.

It is doing so in four ways:
First, the Dodd-Frank regulations are exacerbating one of the greatest consolidations of the banking industry since the Great Depression. Those indispensable small banks, like the one Jimmy Stewart operated in the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life,” are disappearing from the American landscape.

This is largely because big government policies are slanting the system in favor of big banks. Because of this, we have created a competitive advantage that allows the sharks to swallow the minnows. Meanwhile, the “too big to fail” safety net to Bank of America, Citi, and other titans exacerbates this cost advantage of big banks and thus makes bailouts even more likely in the future.

Second, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are engaged in the same low down payment lending mania of 2004-07, and the Obama administration is on a Bush-like homeownership push. Fannie and Freddie are again guaranteeing mortgages with as little as 3 percent down payment. Have we learned nothing at all?

Third, the Fed refused to tighten its stance in September, and, hello, that easy money policy is how we got into the mess in 2000 and then in 2008. Wall Street cheered Janet Yellen’s decision to keep the cheap dollars flowing.

sliding banks

Finally, there is the saturation of debt. When the crisis hit in 2008, the national debt stood at a little under $10 trillion. Now we are over $18 trillion. Government is hopelessly over-leveraged, and the interest rate exposure is enormous. With each one-percentage-point rise in long-term rates, the servicing costs of the debt rises by about $1.8 trillion over ten years.

Fannie and Freddie are again guaranteeing mortgages with as little as 3 percent down payment. Have we learned nothing at all?

The point is that government and politicians have no learning curve. All of the conditions of financial wreckage are reappearing. The presidential candidates should start warning voters that Washington is rebuilding another financial house of cards”

 Quote for the week

In choosing a president, we really don’t choose a Republican or Democrat, a conservative or liberal. We choose a leader.

Rudy Giuliani

Corrupt  Banking destroys Capitalism and Prosperity

Is the corrupt system that we have sustainable?

greed

Letting the market adjust in accordance with pricing determined by supply and demand is fair and it is far more efficient than leaving it to politicians.  You don’t believe Grandma? You are in good company for financiers all over teh world would never agree.  And why not? Because they have injected all sorts of unusual  interruptions to the business cycle to give themselves an unfair advantage. Don’t be deceived by these extremes put forward by the Crony Capitalists.(Republican and Democrats alike) for this is actually one group and not two, and the divide is artificial. Liberty Lovers define these politicians as Statists. Statists can also be defined as those who want to keep and protect the (corrupt) status-quo. Goldman Sachs and AIG and cronies (assholes in greed) earning big bonuses in a casino designed by bankers for bankers, are the prime defenders of the status-quo. They want things to stay the same – investment business as usual.

The big question is – has business as usual given us a fair and workable distribution of American wealth and resources. Take a few minutes to examine the true facts and you may find the situation more dire than the propaganda line.

Watch this video: mind blowing facts

Now are you ready to listen up here, and help to educate and spread the word?  If you care, your hat is to make what is really going on real to voters in 2016. This is a critical year. Grandma believes that the world is on a tipping point and the outcome of the next election, will decide our fate. Free and Prosperous again? Maybe, but maybe not?

This is the second in grandma’s series.of educational posts about free market economics. In the first post she used an anecdotal example, introducing Tom and Sally who both work in the canteen in a VA hospital. In that first post it was Sally who was promoted and as she began to earn more money, she put her surplus in a bank owned by Dick. In the first post we also met small business owner Harry who has a furniture factory/shop and it is Dick the banker who financed his enterprise and helped him to take it up to the next level. Harry got his loan for ten thousand dollars from banker Dick and he paid ten percent for the privilege of using the bank’s money. He invested this money in machinery and raw materials and his enterprise prospered.

The fundamental problem is that the money was never Dicks. It was money deposited in his bank by hard worker Sally and many others like her.  The loan Harry got from Dick was for ten years and he was to pay it back in ten years or else Harry would be subject to a penalty. The penalty was that if not paid in ten years, compound interest would accrue.

Harry did well and in the beginning even Sally was rewarded with a good return on her deposited money.. Here we find Dick the banker engaged in a constructive activity.  This is how Capitalism works in the ideal.

Then Dick got greedy!

There is a problem with people who work only with numbers, for it is easy to have a disconnect. Decisions are made and policies put in place that are not for the greatest good. I think most Americans sense that there is something wrong, they just don’t understand how it works. So they cannot use elections to right the wrongs. The answer is to educate them. .

The first corruption occurred when Banker Dick got greedy and decided to charge compound interest from the get-go and to add insult to injury  to make these charges retroactive. Then to make matters even worse  he cut Sally’s interest rate to way lower than 5%.  How was he able to put his hand in the cookie jar an get away with this stealing?

 Politicians propitiating

This is the exact point where an honest government (justice department) should have stepped in to play umpire and to say, “Oh no, hold it right there corrupt bankster, Dick There was an agreement here between you and Harry and an agreement between you and Sally and you are unilaterally changing the rules.

When government (which is force) gives Dick the right to change the terms of his agreements, the system is being corrupted by the force of government and we no longer have true Capitalism. Do you think it right that banks can change the terms of agreements without even asking you? Does that sound just a little bit familiar; just a little bit too close to home? When did banks last change the interest rates on you? It is always all hidden in the small print.

“But that is not what we agreed to,” wails Harry.  “I am perfectly happy to pay a penalty if I default, but . . . ”  Well if Dick is contributing to election coffers, and has the politicians in his pocket, poor Harry can protest as much as he wants and there will be nobody there listening. Government (especially DOJ) is no longer playing umpire and properly calling the fouls. In short they have quit doing their job.

A fair transaction is one where both parties agree and both parties benefit and the transaction is transparent. If the bank persuades its buddy, big government to allow it to charge compound interest from the get go, the system has been corrupted and banks (who are in no way producers) are getting an unfair slice of the dice. If the banks persuade big government to also let them have floating rates of interest, fractional banking and variable penalties, this destroys Capitalism and our way of life, our liberty and our prosperity.

So let’s pretend a little longer: Another banker, Banker Dikhead, sees Harry doing well and casts his greedy eye on Harry’s loan.  So he goes to Banker Dick and says “I want to buy that loan from you”.Can he do this? Was there an honest transaction between Harry and Dikhead? Of course not. Both Dick and Dikhead’s confusion is that a loan is a product or a service when what it actually is, is a private agreement between Dick and Harry that ought to be honored. This is a point where justice should be stepping in, but this has not happened for a very long time.

If Justice allows Dick to sell the loan to Investor Dikhead, who in turn sells it to banker Moby Dick who passes it along to Savings and Loan, Dikneck, we get a “dick, thick” market that is filled with sludge, and everything slows down. In a slow, confused economy poverty enters in. We all get poorer and even the super rich will eventually get sucked into the dwindling spiral. Even if some good politician were to bring about a fair exchange for the electorate, it has now become almost impossible because we no longer have clear and clean transactions and government has a corrupted organizing board where even justice has become the tool of the super rich.

To add to all the silliness in the system, let us say that investor Dick Sorrowmaker looks it over and he says “Mmmm, I think we may have a bubble here. (sound familiar?) I shall bet my sorry fortune that this bubble is going to pop!” Of course it is going to pop because it has no intrinsic economic integrity.  Dick Sorrowmaker wins his bet and gets to be one of richest men in the world, profiting from a decline, a burst economic bubble; and it is downright scary that he can get away with it. I mean be objective here. Should any investor be able to profit from a decline?   This is crazy economics.  Investors should profit when they contribute to growing the economy and creating jobs. And what of the unintended consequences? We now have an investor who was able to buy countries and politicians and radically change elections and not always for the better. Is Dick Sorrowmaker a producer? Investors, bankers and politicians, none of them are producers.

They do not make anything.

Oligarchy defines a society or a system that is ruled and dominated by a small minority of the top wealthiest (corrupt) citizens. Oligarchy is a way to enrich the few at the cost of the many. So the free market ceases to function and Capitalism becomes a system in name only.

Those who are at least up to seeing the inequities tend to embrace socialism as the solution. Socialism has one major flaw.  The common denominator in the decline of honest banking has been a lack of banking integrity and the greed of bankers and an inept Justice Department.   Capitalism detractors see this as a flaw in the free market system. Yet what it truly is, is a flaw in government and a corruption of justice.

Sally is well rewarded by an honest bank for her industry and thrift. She uses her surplus to buy a house and her spending as she decorates keeps several other small businesses afloat. She even buys furniture from Harry.

In a free economy Harry gets his loan, buys new machinery and starts to make fancy decks and sun porches. He employs new workers who are paid fairly. Employment goes up. After all Small Business is the largest employer of all. This new market he has newly found is wide open and he can keep his furniture at an even keel and depend on the new products for his profit. He has already learned all the woodworking tricks that will take him successfully into his next venture.  The price for his furniture and for his decks will be determined not by government but by supply and demand.

And so the market grows and the nation gets prosperous.

True Capitalism is governed by self interest, but it is the community’s cumulative transactions (the market) that has the power to transform self interest into the greatest good for the greatest number “as if by an invisible hand”

healthy economy

Much Ado about Donald Trump (updated after the election)

A few of us knew that Trump was going to be the next President; and how did we know this? We read his books and studied his record and realized that when Trump decides something, that is the way it is going to be. This strength of mind and self-confidence (and his knowledge of how finance works) should stand us in good stead in the troubled times that still lie ahead.

Donald TrumpGiven that he won the election fair and square why is there still opposition?

It is going to take time for the lies and slander to fade away.  The swamp has not yet been drained. It will take at least four years  maybe eight and maybe even thirty which is what I predict the GOP has ahead. I predict this because of the greater efficiency of their political organization.

So given the Democrats in disarray, what is this wild noise we are still hearing?
There are a lot of people were supporting corrupt HIllary, freaking, because they stand to lose an unfair privilege.

Just to name a few:

  • Sanctuary Cities
  • Illegal immigrants and Refugees living off the public dole when some of our children are starving and our veterans are struggling.
  • Those planning and rigging the vote counting machines to falsify election results. (So sick) I have suspicions about Harry Reid.
  • Those gaming the legislative process (Harry Reid, Mich McConnell, Bill Clinton)
  • Teachers protected by seniority and not judged on their performance.
  • Government workers insisting on high wages and demanding high benefits but failing the public they serve.
  • Those in high office like Clinton betraying her public trust, taking bribes (bribes laundered through the Clinton Foundation)
  • Those in high office like Clinton choosing to set up her records on a public server (SO THAT HER EMAILS COULD NEVER BE SOUGHT BY JUDICIAL WATCH ON A FREEDOM OF iNFORMATION REQUEST) Thanks to Wikileaks we found out what she and those in high office in the Democrats wanted to hide.
  • Lots of little bureacrats who were also raking it in on the side. We have far too many bureaucrats.
  • Main Stream Media owned by Global Interests engaging in bias and slander and failing to tell the truth.
  • Big pharma making a killing from Government patents and regulations that protect their unfair monopoly – why can’t we buy our drugs in Canada or Mexico? Why can’t HMOs compete across state lines. Where is all this cushy protection.
  • Farmers getting subsidies long out of date
  • Investors like George Soros using arcane investing rules to allow them to profit from an economic decline (Then they use thier wealth and power to create such decline)
  • People on welfare now have to learn a trade and begin to support self and family and the nation.
  • Abortion clinics relying on public funding.
  • Monsanto (GMO) permitted by Clinton to hide what they are doing to poison our food.
  • Bribed politicians and on and on.

No wonder there are a lot of unhappy people.

That they love him speaks a lot for Donald Trump.
  • Trump’s political views are still evolving and he is not fixed. He evaluates the situation in front of him, he observes, and then he decides before he acts. He is able TO SEE.
  • He is transparent, and tells it like it is. This is likable.
  • He understands TV; and as an entertainer he is supreme
  • He understands finance; and this is something we badly need, it has become beyond vital to fix the failing economy before the next economic bubble pops (derivatives)
  • In the event of an economic or any major catastrophe, Trump is a strong man. In such a bad event we will need strength in a leader.
  • He promises jobs, knowing that putting us ALL back to work will raise our morale
  • He is sensible: “identify your goals, know precisely what you want to achieve, then find and surround yourself with the best people”  Good advice. Already we have seen this work for him.
  • He is sound on Education (He supports school choice, and opposes Common Core)
  • He is sound on Taxes. He asks simplification of the cumbersome and complex income tax code. His plan to tax the rich is coming under attack, yet what he proposes is an amazingly fair and gradient approach to handle income inequality
  • That he only hits back when attacked, yet hits back hard and effectively.
  • Most of all we are coming to realize that those who oppose him are corrupt. There is a whole thick, entrenched system in Washington which is rigged.  We begin to understand the opposition to Trump better when we realize just how much money the elites (both global, democratic and republican) are standing to lose.Trump will expose their corruption.

corporate greed

Not all who oppose Trump are corrupt, some are wary because . . .

  • His style is somewhat new and he is not in any way politically correct. As a friend put it, “Trump is saying all the right things, I just wish somebody else was saying it.”
  • Would he have the strength and the smarts to take America through a bankruptcy without letting the fabric of our society fall apart, for that is what it may take?
  • Will he introduce change on an acceptable gradient, giving us time to catch up. We see that he is way ahead even than the smartest of our thinkers. Will he be gentle on us?
  • The true test of his greatness will be to bring his prior enemies onto the train, invite them to WAKE UP.
  • Will Trump grant others the ability to  see things their own way, to disagree with him AS LONG AS THEY ARE FAIR?  The true test of greatness will be to LEARN to love his enemies provided they are declawed.

Some of these are valid concerns, electing  an outsider to the post of President is a big change from politics as usual. He has my support because he supports the Republican form of government; in a Republic, government rules only with consent of the governed. In a global or progressive administration “Might is Right” and this opens the door to oppression.

And that folks is what was at stake in 2016. We could have lost America. We could have been forced by the Clintons into the North American Union to become just another corrupt, Banana Republic bowing down the might of the corrupt global elite.

character

So where do we go from here? We come together as Americans, grateful that once again America has stood up to the challenge.

I  am now studying that incomparable Hillsdale College Course on the Constitution and finding that Trump’s instinctive solutions are mostly aligned with the core beliefs of the founding fathers. They, too, valued common sense.

Don’t feel bad if you got it wrong: the political lies were so many as to be overwhelming. The key difference between the candidates: I do believe that Trump can change. He will grow into his new position. I don’t see that Hillary has changed in thirty years. She has always put power over people.

In times of great change we need a President who is in no way a puppet as has been Hillary & Obama. America needs an outsider who can think on his feet. I do believe such a man is Donald Trump.

So I have a message for those who still oppose Trump:

Do your homework.

  • Get educated on the “out of touch” globalists many of whom do not have your better interests at heart
  • If you do not understand a Constitutional Republic take some time to study the incomparable FREE online course from Hillsdale College.
  • Read one or two of Trump’s books, (you may start start with the Midas Touch)
  • Learn about the Political Lies being told by the Corporate Oligarchies.
  • Learn how Main Stream Media is now a Monopoly and the dubious techniques they use to mislead you Recognize that it is the lies and half truths that has you all upset.  Learn to spot the false labels and the generalities.

It is a big world out there, a big responsibility. We turth-seekers honestly believe that it begins by first fixing up our own house and then we can help other soveriegn nations. “America First” is common sense.

We will see if Power corrupts Trump or not, and we will be vigilant and become active again to curb his power if that is needed.

But for now it is the dawn of a new day.

families at night

We all need to give our new president- elect some time and space. We need to have faith in the American system; the people have spoken.

I have a dream, and this is that Trump will pattern himself after George Washington with the aggression and strength to fight for what is right; but the restraint to earn him a true legacy.

Can Bill Clinton fix small business for Hillary?

Small business just happens to be the largest employer in America. Wipe out small business and you destroy jobs.

When he was president Bill Clinton understood this; but that was then and now is now. After eight years of Obama, small business has been all but destroyed by regulations, banking corruption and global priorities.

The seeds for the 2008 crash were actually sown on Bill Clinton’s watch, an inept president who didn’t really understand, and his greedy banking cronies who took advantage. Bernie Sanders pushed to get this fixed with Glass Steagall. However, now that Clinton has chosen Tim Kaine over Elizabeth Warren as her VP, is it likely she will follow through on this very needed banking correction?

To Regulate or not to Regulate; that is the question . . .

Wells Fargo: Another major banking scandal: so what’s new?

robtheworld

The economy got turned around after the 2008 crash, but the Wells Fargo scandal shows us that while the danger was handled in 2008 (taxpayer bailouts of both American and Foreign Banks) a Federal Reserve in bed with Obama, saved the system, but they failed to fix the problem.

Hillary is propitiating the corrupt banking Industry. Hillary is the establishment candidate.

2008 halved the value of many homes and if Americans were able to keep their houses it was a small miracle. Many walked away from the biggest investment of their lifetime.  Now, paying sometimes exorbitant rents, to foreign owner capitalists in a global world, our Moms & Pops live from paycheck to paycheck. Their kids, having lost jobs to India, China and Mexico, are being forced to move back in with them.

Note well: It was the crash of 2008 that brought on the income inequality that is now destroying our culture?

A little background on Glass Steagall: bringing this back has has been included in the GOP platform.

Today we see that banking corruptIon still exists. We can hope that Wells Fargo will become the head on a pike and corrupt bankers will be put on notice that they commit crimes, they get locked away. Don’t hold your breath with a Hillary presidency. She will protect the corrupt justice department and the numbers tell us she is in bed with the industry.,

We should learn from our past mistakes.

1933 the evidence of banking corruption was irrefutable: After the then ethics investigation, it was found that BANKING & BROKERING WAS A POISONOUS MARRIAGE.

TBTF

Hillary is making noises to placate the Bernie voters, but once in power can we trust her? Her banking connections tell us, otherwise! Follow the money.

Is the danger real that we could have another banking crash?  Don’t take my word on it, look at the graph for yourself and check out the numbers.

************

Then read my story so that you, too, understand.

**********

mom&PopWith rumblings that we could again have another banking crash, having the big banks again steal assets from these hardworking little Mom & Pop shop enterprises is not an option. It is totally unacceptable. It is little Mom & Pop enterprises that depend on the banks to keep their meager money safe.

Purists argue that we should let the big banks be forced into bankruptcy for that is how a free market system works. The American voter thinks this banking danger has gone away, but all that has happened is that it has been swept under a dirty carpet that is still big banking today.

It all comes back to a good law deliberately wiped out for banking greed and one inept President who lacked any kind of personal ethics. Do we want his wife to bring back all the same bad laws and advisers? Do we want Hillary to perpetuate banking corruption?

When originally introduced, Glass-Steagall gave banks a year to decide: they could get out of the securities business, and enjoy the benefits of deposit insurance and access to the low-interest credit of the Federal Reserve; or they could choose to be investment banks and brokerage houses, and forego the banking privileges given them by depositors.

It is one or the other, and once again in 2016 it is time for we the people to force the banks to make the choice.

 ***********

Bobby said to his Dad, “I think I will put my money in a real bank next time.”

Oh yeah?

Until the banks get their act together not such a good idea Bobby?

*************

It is true that most regulations are counter productive but there are some like the Glass-Steagall Act that are absolutely vital to our economic prosperity and the stability of our culture. America survived the Great Depression because there was effective ethics investigation, effective reorganization of the banking sector and new, strong policy put in place to make sure t didn’t happen again.

The Fair Tax

Excerpt from Politics IOU by Grandma Thunder.

taxes

There are two kinds of people: those who give and those who take.

There are two kinds of citizens: those who produce and those who consume.

All people give and take and produce and consume, but it is important to weigh in as a giver and a producer.

There are citizens that do great work in the larger corporations and employees who do good work in the public sector and then there are hard-working small businesses with entrepreneurs working 24/7. There are some citizens who even hold down more than one job or one business to make ends meet. There are producers in both the private and public sectors and it is this kind of person that drives the economy.

Typically under our current tax burden workers pay more than 30% in income taxes, not to mention the gas tax (going up) and property tax (going up) the state tax (going up) and the sales tax and the fire tax and  the death tax and and and,  and on and on  . . .

If all that tax money could be turned into spending, it would boost the private sector, and they who are the biggest employer of all, could hire more employees. As these new employees begin to  pay taxes themselves, it is a win-win situation putting more tax money into the tax coffers.

It is when the volume of taxes goes up that  the public officials get a raise!

It is not how much a single citizen pays in taxes (rich or poor) it is how many workers there are out there paying taxes; it is a horizontal benefit, not a vertical liability. We all win when the tax burden is spread over the many.

This is just a preamble to introduce the concept of a  Fair Tax.

The argument for a fairer tax is that the rich hide their wealth in the mountains or on the islands, or in tax free havens. The less they pay, the more the burden falls on the corporate worker. the rich could be taxed more but they are astute to the degree that if they were taxed more they would just go hide their money elsewhere ( beyond the borders of the nation) and it is a big world to get lost in. Yet even the rich cannot hide their consumption.

In addition there is the whole under-cover illegal economy of organized crime, but why mount a costly war going after them? They also cannot hide their consumption.

Indigents on welfare are sometimes dishonest and we heard yesterday of a man and woman on welfare who have eight Big-Screens in their home and all have been funded by the taxpayer dollar. Welfare criminals can defraud the system, but they cannot hide their consumption.

Thrifty public workers are rewarded by the Fair Tax.

If taxes are taken out on consumption rather than on income, innovation is protected. Those who invest their money, not in the market, but in their own businesses or a side business. This we want, for it is they who point the economy towards prosperity and when they are finally multiplied, we have a system that is not only fair but also increases the number of workers in the nation.

So taxing ONLY on consumption is a no-brainer.

For all those in government who genuinely want to find better ways to increase the nation’s productivity, think hard and long about our complex tax system, which was designed to be an obfuscation; it was always designed to be unfair.

You are challenged to think it through, and if you are honest with yourself , you will conclude that prosperity can come back with a  FAIR TAX.

Co-sponsor the Fair Tax.

The Meaning of the Midterm Elections

The GOP has the Day!   They have the Senate and Congress; the House is theirs!

Where to from Here.

We have just witnessed a major shift in power in Washington. This was a singular GOP achievement.  What was impressive was how they pulled together to pull it off. We even saw Governor Christie (not up for election at this time) go out to stump and raise a record $106 million for his fellow Republican Governors.

Here are the early results:

Election Results 2014

In numbers elected governors.

A fine job this midterm election, but not a done job.  Congress still has a low approval rating, and the attendance at the polls was a far cry from the 80% participation our founding fathers enjoyed in the early years.

There has always been much fanfare and big promises made during, or just after an election. Unfortunately what followed as the governing began, was little real or meaningful reform? Is this why we have this disenchantment with today’s politicians? They rarely keep their promises.

Could the reason be that unseasoned officials (on both sides of the aisle) are more intent on being right or raking in a buck, rather than in actually solving problems for us?. On the other hand they may face forces we know not of. Whatever Grandma still thinks this is the correct yardstick by which to measure their success or failure.

Have to look at compromise during the next two years.  To get anything done with Obama still at the helm is going to be difficult.  Obama has the veto power not to mention his drove off donkey-czars. All legislation sent up to his desk for signing will have to be cut and dried, and to embrace the better interests of ALL the people, the kind of legislation he cannot afford NOT to sign.

The Tea Party activists scream “no compromise” for they fear a socialist agenda, but at the other extreme, so do the corrupt vested interests who also use this “never compromise” refrain to impose an unconstitutional level of party discipline on the house internal vote; and all in order to keep their own unfair privilege.  In both cases intransigence is justified (laugh out loud) by calling it constitutional. I want to point out that the gentle art of compromise is very much a part of our political heritage and it has always been there right from the beginning. When a politician compromises it doesn’t necessarily mean he has abandoned his core values. Maybe he just has a supreme ability to find common ground or to make the other guy right (never wrong for that doesn’t work) while still holding to his own course.  Maybe he has the ability to see the other person’s needs and point of view. Maybe he knows how to be persuasive by first acknowledging the other. Only when he has gained some agreement will he put forward his own agenda. Compromise is a conversation.

Did you know that the Founding Fathers  actually rejected party politics and chose representative government over party caucuses. Grandma shares their view, is why hers is an independent voice.

Our constitution came into being because the founding fathers had mastered the art of persuasion and knew when and how to compromise. In fact the Constitutional Convention was a quarter of a year’s exercise in compromise. Yes they compromised on the smaller details, but they never strayed from the essential principles, those fundamentals that secure our liberty and prosperity. So they must have defined these core principles and understood them well. Grandma admires the sincerity of the Tea Party activists but she does see that some compromise is going to be needed to make the next two years work.

What should be avoided on both sides is polarity. Polarity is making self right and teh other guy wrong. Our Founding Father’s intended to include  everybody in the final outcome of this game that we call America, and once elected Grandma thinks our new leaders should have the same goal.  The constitution wasn’t a perfect solution by any means,  but this carefully crafted compromise has worked for us for a century or two;  once again in this last election.

So let’s take a look at our new leaders:

Mitch McConnell
McConnell has been the Minority Leader of the Senate since January 3, 2007.  He is  the second Kentuckian to lead his party in the Senate. He is also the longest serving U.S. Senator in Kentucky’s history.

Apparently he has always wanted to lead the Senate and this is his dream fulfilled. He  understands that the Senate is a place for open debate, intended by the founders to be a deliberative body; something Harry Reid didn’t understand. In the Obama administration, Reid was the fall guy. We go forward now with a newly naked Obama into the next two years.

McConnell  seems to know that open debate takes time and it seems he is willing to put the Senate to work and demand long hours. Hello! We might even get a hardworking Senate setting a good example and educating Congress in the value of good old fashioned, hard work.

An interesting fact: I doubt that McConnell could have pulled it off without the loyal support of Rand Paul.  Not only was there a major shift in power from Democrat to the GOP in this last election, it would also seem there was a subtle, albeit fragile shift within the party away from the old corrupt order, and towards the new idealists.

What I really like about the Senior Senator from Kentucky is how he is a committed team player. He even answers questions and acknowledges supporters on his Facebook page – now that is something even Rand Paul does not. In my mind as a public person, that makes him  special.

The way I see him is he is a seasoned politician with a big heart,  I think we may have truly lucked out to have him at the helm.

For now he has my full support but I am watching for I don’t yet know him, and I plead guilty that like many others I was taken in by Obama.

As he has done in his own state of Kentucky, I am thinking however that Mitch McConnell may just make it his first order of the day to break the log-jam and actually get something done!

Rand Paul
I think Rand Paul has the potential for greatness; as Times Magazine says, ” He is the most interesting man in politics today.” Paul sees the bigger picture, he is man of vision. He is dedicated to a true Republic.

He is the author of “The Tea Party goes to Washington” but has been pilloried by Tea Party members, especially those who hold to fixed positions.

Since 2011 he has served as the junior Senator in Kentucky and a great measure of his success is in how he has forged a strong relationship with Mitch McConnell, his senior Senator. Earlier he also created good relations with Mitt Romney.

I have seen him show respect, make friends as needed, laugh and enjoy life, yet somehow never to lose sight of his core position, which is all about liberty and integrity and prosperity.

I love how on his holiday he goes out to help the needy with his skill as an eye surgeon.

He and McConnell make a great team and I am predicting that they will do great things together.

Ted Cruz
He is the darling of the Tea Party – the Senator from Texas. For a time he and Paul were at odds, but were able to resolve their differences.

Cruz fears too much legislating during the lame duck session will get the GOP in trouble.

What I think he is saying is that the GOP establishment have certain pet projects they want to force through e.g. The Internet Sales Tax.  This is a favorite cause of the corporate GOP lobbyists who want to jack up taxes on millions of Mom and Pop Internet retailers. Cruz can see that this helps big business at the expense of the little guy, and will cause more unemployment. He opposes this. Grandma likes the way he thinks.  She hopes the old guard in the party will be humble enough to heed his warning

Cruz is the Senate loud boy, and there is no denying that he has “candy appeal” and force and charisma, and these alone could propel him up and into the White House.

Although the GOP has now proven they can work together towards a common goal, the party is still divided between the older guard and the new idealists. So let me say it: this will be McConnell’s BIG challenge.  Will he be able to make a real, strong unified party not just at election time, but while governing during the lame duck session.   If he pulls it off he will go down in history as one of our very great statesmen.

It won’t be easy. He is going to have to fight big money; he will have to get big banking in line; he will also have to fight some international challenges.  With Reid gone the “Audit the Fed” is likely to pass, and this first audit is going to open up a can of worms. These will come crawling out and taint not just the next two years while he is in office as the leader but if not handled adeptly, much, much longer.  Yet this audit is long overdue, and should not be put off.  Handle it right and Mitch McConnell  is going to have his place in the sun..

There is a lot of money and energy and influence (and arrogance) in the old corrupt industrial order and some of this money and political influence is even found coming in from monopolies outside our borders.  It is going to take strong men to steer a straight course for the next two years, and after that we are going to need a VERY strong President to bring us through. So what is the actual meaning of this midterm election? It simply means that the GOP has at least reached first base.

Transparency International defines corruption as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain.  There is still that in the old GOP guard, as there is in the old democratic order.

“The Sunlight Foundation reports three of the five biggest donors in 2014 are liberal billionaires. This does not take into account the unreported campaign cash, which the Center for Responsive Politics estimates is well over $100 million this year.  Thanks to the Supreme Court’s ruling in the 2010 Citizens United case, politically oriented nonprofits can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money without disclosing their finances to the Federal Election Commission.”

McConnell can expect that special  interests will fight to continue their unfair privilege. The success of the next two years will be measured in how well the GOP organizes and legislates to lift the party and the country out of the corruption of the old industrial order.

Preparing for the next President:
I endorse Rand Paul or president in 2016, because I look at how far he has come since entering the Senate in 2011.  We are going to need a president who can grow into the position

I like him because he never loses his fine principles (no mean skill)

He has demonstrated that he is no stranger to courage – remember  his filibuster on drones that altered the “Big Brother” conversation.

I like him for the very reason that he thinks big, includes everybody, has compassion, has excellent manners and has mastered the fine art of compromise.

So Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul and all the other fine, young republican Senators and Congressmen who have just had this big win, Grandma wishes you well.  You are a fine team, and you have now reached first base, no mean achievement. Now lets see if you can make a home run?

What of Hilary?

Grandma endorses Rand Paul but will she vote for him? Maybe yes and maybe no?

The big question is will our fine lady even run? Would you? If she runs there is every chance that she will win. Yet Grandma does not envy her, her decision.

She is likely to go up against Rand Paul (51)  Marc Rubio (43) or Ted Cruz (41) if she runs. She is 67 years old  and already 69 when she assumes office. Compared to them, although now a beautiful woman just past her prime,  she is likely to look seedy.

On the other hand, were she to run against the jowly Chris Christie she will shine out as the elegant and beautiful and wise woman that she has always been.  Then my choice gets simplified. I vote or Hilary and I vote for the establishment  I vote for Christie and I vote for the establishment. I won’t vote for the establishment so Grandma won’t vote at all.

A republican Congress, a Republican Senate and a Republican President could get a whole lot done, BUT ONLY  if the party were willing to police their own.  If not, the lovely lady has a very vital part to play, she will need to perform the valuable function of vetoing corrupt GOP legislation. Remember the bad Cheyney/Rove years? Was that not a bad time for independents and the nation? If the GOP old guard wins in their efforts to command the Republican party,  I would vote for Hilary.

So Grandma is carefully watching the new GOP Senate and its bigger little brother, Congress.

What she would really like to see is some legislation to stop commercial banks from investing our hard earned money. That is not their job. They are not investment banks. We give a bank our earnings trusting it to be safe with them. The job of a commercial bank is to take the deposits and invest it in their local community. It is the job of commercial banks to kick off local small business in their area, and in that way unemployment gets solved and the economy is given a boost. None of this Casino banking that is still destroying our nation; not for Grandma who understands how pernicious it is.

I will be watching to see if legislation like this comes forward before I cast my vote for Rand Paul (whom I like) rather than for Hilary.

Contrary to some predictions based on the demographics, I do think that the GOP will keep the House and the Senate after 2016. They have mounted a superb grassroots organization in the midterm elections. The only thing that could undo them is the conflict between the establishment and the liberty movement bursting out one more time; the other thing could undo them is if they fail to police corruption and not root out foreign influence.   Fail on either count and once again they will self destruct.

Hard choices: Is Hilary going to run? Toss a coin!

If she does she has a very good  chance of winning for she is supported on the left and also by many independents who like her courage and style.
However if she runs and becomes President she is going to have a really rough time before and after the election. It would be easier on a stronger and a younger man.

Grandma sees the outcome of the next election as actually Hilary’s call.

I actually think Hilary has the integrity to make he decision based on the greatest good.

Bill and Hilary Clinton cuddling baby Charlotte

Grandmother Hilary

She and Bill are doing great charity work; she is a grandma for heaven sakes. I would like to see her enjoy her golden years, but then this new House will have to prove themselves and do their job and a young man of courage and character will have to step up to the plate.

We are here because of grass-roots conservatives all over the place. That’s the way the democratic process is supposed to work. It’s not supposed to be a bunch of guys in a smoky room picking the next Senator.

When all Else Fails there always Welfare!

Socialism and Welfare (excerpt from Politics IOU)

The night was chilly when Spider and Ginsee arrived at the fast food restaurant. They had arrived early but their good friend Parker was there ahead of them  sitting on a rigid metal chair.

Parker was a wizard with wood; he could make anything with wood. In the better times he had made household knick-knacks, organizers and furniture, each unique piece more beautiful than the last.  Spider and Ginsee sometimes sold some of his exquisite wall planters and lamps at their art shows.  Since the crash with the cost of raw materials skyrocketing, had had to resort to making model airplanes which he sold to the military. As he said, “It’s  a living.”

“Can’t compete with the dollar on the dime store?” asked Spider.

“Don’t want to,” said Parker.

“Too tacky,” said Ginsee.

“Yep!” said Parker.

He had been hit harder than most by the Shadow County betrayal, losing many accounts; the only vendor who had had more county accounts taken was the hotheaded jeweler Noah who had lost 39 venues. Noah had been going into every little County facility that had ever existed.

”Where is Troy?” asked Ginsee.

”Let him go,” Spider looked up at Parker in sympathy. Troy was Parker’s long time helper.

 “Was it the insurance?”

“Yes that was the final straw.”

“How much does it cost to have a helper in these days?” asked Ginsee.

Probably time and a half.  If you pay a worker ten dollars an hour there is easily an extra  $5 (maybe more) for the government, the city, for the workman’s comp, for FUTA and and any other acronym the politicians and bureaucrats can dream up. And now with the Care Bill the small business man has to also to pay the medical. If the minimum wage is ten, maybe more than fifteen I don’t know Ginsee. It is obfuscated. It is all very confusing.”

“Yes that is what is so wrong.” said Ginsee. “Corkscrew promised transparency.I don’t see it.”

“Troy was a good worker,” said Parker.

“You been together a long time?”

“Yes. nearly twenty years.  I always paid him paid him more than minimum. The trouble is, what with only the planes making any kind of money . . . I would really have liked to keep him on, and I put off letting him go as long as I possibly could, but I honestly can’t afford him anymore. Heck I can hardly afford me right now. .  I really held on as long as I could, Spider.”

“I know you did.”

“I will miss Troy,” said Ginsee. She had been fond of him.

“What about you two, are you still going to do the shows?” asked Parker. He had changed the subject because he didn’t want to show just how much he also missed his helper.

“I won’t let Spider quit.”

“Do you need any help, parker” asked Spider.

“I‘ll get by.”

“Sticking?” asked Ginsee.

“It’s what I know and what I do best.”

Like Zafia and like Fred ( their framer) Ginsee knew that Parker would survive. He was an innovator. He was also a survivor. His products had been – well they were just uniquely beautiful and totally functional.

“And what of Troy, is he going to be okay?” she asked.

“For now he is on welfare.”

‘Oh yes, when all else fails there is always welfare,” said Spider.

“Hey Spider!”

The Six Dollar Twins came waltzing through the door. Of all the vendors they were making the most of this strange economy. The twins rolled in eight display racks to their corporate shows, all filled with Six Dollar items.  They were supremely organized, upbeat and insouciant and so they were popular.

‘Hey Parker, you applied for food stamps yet?” asked Ben.

“What !!” blurted Ginsee.

“Gotta work the system,” said Ken, ‘the food-stamps don’t make up the shortfall from all the county crap but it sure helps. . . “

“You on food stamps?” asked Spider.

“Uh–huh”

“I don’t think Spider is going to qualify,” said Ben.

“You make  more money than we do,” said Spider surprised.

“Ah but that is not how they see it. You gotta figure out the system and work it,” said Len.

“Parker would qualify, he lost more county accounts than we did.” suggested Ben

Parker was quiet. He would rather starve than go on welfare.

“Seriously Parker, every little bit helps.” said Len.

“It is not about pride, Parker, it is all about beating the system,” said his twin. “You either sock it to them or they sock it to you!”

Parker was silent.

“Have you’all been to the Hospital Headquarters yet? You still go there?” asked Spider keeping the peace and changing the subject.  ”We are going there next week..”

”Be ready for a shock.”said Ben.

”Not another new manager?” asked Spider.

“Yep, third in a row, but this one decided to remodel the Cafeteria, “ said Ben “Now she allows us only two small tables way at the back of the room.”

“Oh no,”  said Parker “that isn’t going to work.”

“Go figure.”

“Is she also a mean one?” asked Ginsee thinking of Pearl and the volunteer strike.

“Yes” said Ben.

‘No,” said Len.

“Well which is she?” asked Ginsee

“Well it is like this, she is not really mean, just socked into her own little world. Cafeteria looks real fancy but the truth is Ginsee, there is nobody goes there no more,”

“And I expect the room can’t be used for fundraising or meetings or classes any longer?”

“You got it.”

Spider sighed. So typical of the new breed of managers. Managers or employees for that matter, were no longer judged on their performance statistics. It was all about the image.

“So where did you sell, no way you can only use only two small tables with your set up?” asked Parker

“We went out on to the patio.”

“Better take string  Spider – that patio is breezy.” said Ginsee

“Did you make as much money as before?” asked Spider.

“You gotta be joking!”

“If I don’t as make any money there I am going to go apply for food stamps.” said Spider goading his little wifey.

“Over my dead body,” said Ginsee rising to the bait.

When all else fails there is always welfare.

foodstamps

“Hey Parker, what are you trying to do?” asked Len.

Parker was fiddling with the fast food restaurant’s table. “These things are bolted to the floor and I can’t move them together.” At the restaurant they had always taken over with four long tables and much revelry. One year there had been over fifty vendors attending.

I have some little folding tables in the van,” said Len, “shall I bring them out?”

“And I have some fancy lace table cloths!” said Ginsee entering into the spirit of the evening. Together the five old friends set about making the place festive despite all the setbacks.

”No liquor but they do have great coffee! Here taste this!”  Pleased by what Parker and Ginsee had created, Spider approached them with a tray full of coffee in paper cups. Only eleven people showed.

Next to join them was Nancy and Russel with a very sad tale to tell.

“We’re here but we ain’t in business no more. This is our last time, Spider!”

“You’re quitting?” Of all the vendors Ginsee had not expected this of them.

“We don’t have a choice, Ginsee, we no longer have any stock,” said Nancy.

“How so?”

“We got robbed.”

“What?”

“Selling East in Shadow County and staying over in a motel.”

“Lots of agriculture there,” said Spider. “Rich place”

“Rich and poor!”

“It wasn’t good?”

”It was a disaster,” said Russel.

“Because?”

“In the morning I went out to get the trailer in the motel parking lot … “

Nancy interrupted him,” He came back with eyes as big as saucers. She mimicked his deep voice,  ‘The van is there but there ain’t no trailer!’ ”

“No trailer?”

“They stole the trailer, sawed it off just before the lock.”

“ They took it all, Spider, fixtures, signs, easels, clothing racks and everything.”

‘That is just awful,” said Ginsee “Were you insured?”

’For the van, but not for the trailer and its contents. I guess that was silly, “said Nancy.

“Insurance had been going up and up. I just couldn’t keep up,” said Russel.

“What about the City police, couldn’t they help you?” asked Ben.

“The police, hah!” said Nancy. “Fat lot of use they were.”

fat cops

Russel went on, “You do know Spider that our clothing is original. We get the cloth and then Nancy prints her own designs. Only then do we make our own unique outfits. There is nothing else quite like what we sell on the market.” Nancy was an artist in her own right and Ginsee loved the dresses she had bought from her.

“I called the police and reached a helpful clerk. I explained to her I had done a photo shoot of all the products just the week before for a new catalog and I had digital pictures of everything that was stolen. The helpful clerk was able to put my photos on the city police intranet.”

“So of course they got your dresses back?” asked Ginsee.

“Nope!”

”But all they would have to do is go to the street corners and swap meets on the weekend, find your dresses and that would lead them to the trailer?”

“That’s exactly what I told them.”

Nancy called the policeman in charge of the case (theft of our trailer) “said Russel “After several failed efforts to reach him over a period of weeks, with us getting more agitated by the day, she finally got him on the phone only to be told nothing could be done.  He didn’t work on the weekend; he worked only Monday through Thursay.

“What!” Spider was flabbergasted.  To recover their stolen merchandise was an easy task, but the police had to be on to it almost immediately. A delay of a few weeks and the stuff could be shipped anywhere. Here was Nancy working 24/7 which she had done for over twenty years. She was an incredible artist but she also had a short leg so it couldn’t have been easy to go on doing shows.   “Did you ask to speak to a supervisor?”

“I talked to the Chief of Police. He told me he no longer dealt with stolen vehicles. They had closed the department”

“What is their tax rate?”

“Nine and a quarter, top tax rate,” said Ben.

“Go figure, “ said Spider.  “And what hours was the Chief working; did you think to ask him?”

“Yes,”  Russel gave a lopsided smile. “Their Chief of ol Police works Tuesday through Friday and he said he had not worked a weekend in his life.”

”Didn’t I read that that City is attempting bankruptcy?” asked Parker

“You heard right and we have decided to do the same,” said Russel.

“You are declaring bankruptcy?” asked Spider, appalled.

“We filed last week. We really had no choice.”

“What will you do to live?” asked Ginsee.

“I have a couple of months before I am eligible for Social Security, “ Russel answered, “ and we found out that with her short leg, Nancy can get disability.”

“And what about all your beautiful dresses?”  asked Ginsee

“All gone!” said Nancy cheerily.

When all else fails there is always Welfare.

 welfare

They drank coffee together and ate hamburger and shared old stories.  Once upon a time they had shared goals and dreams at these events.

”Just one thing, where was Noah, I had expected him to at least be here,” asked Spider.

“You hadn’t heard?”

“Heard what?”

 “Noah’s is in jail. “

“Oh no,” said Spider, “what happened?”

“He was out protesting in the park when the cops rounded them up. Don’t worry Spider he’s got a lawyer brother who will get him off. “said Parker.

”I don’t know, “said Spider slowly. “The rule of law is crumbling.” He was concerned.

”Poor Noah,” said Ginsee,” bet he was just protesting the County affair.”

“Actually Noah was able to slip away, he was there for a short while but he wasn’t caught in the park,” said Parker.

“So how come he is in trouble?”

“It was that niece; you know the one he has been helping.”

“The one with no husband, but always getting pregnant?

“That one,” said Parker.  ”She ratted on him to the police.”

“After what he has done for her,” said Ginsee appalled.

 “How many kids now?”

“Four”

“And still no husband?”

”Not a whiff of one.”

“Great welfare checks when you are a single parent,” said Parker

“Go figure?  And was this not the type of family strife typical of insipient socialism. .

When contraception fails there is always abortion or welfare.

Lost Prosperity

Small Business Trends
(Excerpt from  ”Politics IOU” by Margaret Lynn Verhoeff AKA Grandma Thunder}

Spider didn’t want to go out for fast-food!  It reminded him too much of his early, humble beginnings.

Their fancy restaurant was closed. After thirty years in business it had closed it doors. Had it been open, few vendors attending their annual get- together would have been able to afford the fancy meal they had all so very much enjoyed in better years.  The vendors had been meeting together at the same restaurant for six or seven years. He was sorry to see the restaurant go under for it’s superb style had meant something to him.  He and his young wife were still going to be getting together with their friends to welcome in the New Year, but maybe for the last time.  Spider wondered how many vendors would come, surely fewer than the prior year, and definitely a much smaller number than in the good years when it was still possible to make a living as a vendor.

Would he and Ginsee meet with them the following year? He really had no idea.

closing down

Spider had grown up on the streets in Workingman’s City. He understood  what it took to keep a small business afloat during the hard times. As a street urchin, he had been fed and helped by some of the kinder Workingman City small shop owners.  As he had grown he was too proud to accept a hand-out, and he had worked for his keep, doing whatever he could do to help those who had helped him.. A few shopkeepers had discovered that he was good with numbers and that was how he had come to learn the small business, economic model.

Later he had had the good fortune and the smarts to escape Workingman’s City, to get himself a degree in economics, and to enter the corporate world. That didn’t work out for he was too much a free spirit to adapt to the corporate hierarchy.

He had quit the corporate world after he had met the ethereal Ginsee. She was as light and white as he was dark and wiry, twelve years younger than he.  They had agreed to start a small business together and for ten years they had made a good living selling art, while visiting some of the more prestigious offices and hospitals, helping with fundraising and bringing a little cheer to the corporate employees. After marrying they had purchased a cabin on the edge of the high protected forest in the mountains of Shadow County from where they traveled out to do their shows. The terrain was as different from Working Man City as Spider could find. His favorite sport was rock climbing; he loved to hang halfway between heaven and earth. It was his agility as a rock climber that had earned him the nickname, Spider.

He loved his young wife deeply, and they very rarely quarreled; both upbeat souls, they seemed to agree on most things. But as they got ready to go to the fast food restaurant where they were meeting the other vendors, a fight was starting that was shaping up to be a doozy.

“You are planning to quit aren’t you, Spider? “ She made the accusation in a tone laced with make-wrong. She was right, he had been figuring on how to frame an elegant exit strategy from the game he and Ginsee had played for over ten years.

He was silent for a beat, he hadn’t told her, she had guessed. “I’ll be honest with you, Ginsee I have been looking at it,” he said.

“You mean you are actually thinking of stopping the mobile gallery?” she asked with narrowed eyes.

“Not ever leaving you, just quitting the business,” he said and smiled. It was said to reassure her but it didn’t have the required effect.

“You want us to just quit!”

“Uh-huh.”

“Because?”

“Because we are losing money.”

“And we don’t have enough to ride it out? “

“Of course we do, but that is not the point.” he had spent his money on property and invested astutely.

“What is the point?”

“Are you sure you don’t want to just stop, Ginsee.?” She was surprising him. It had been hard on her too of late.

“You can quit Spider but I for one am not going under.” It was said with a firmness that was quite unlike her and he was caught flatfooted by her reaction. While he could or not have their small business, he was stunned to see that she was emotional about losing it. He decided that like a house sacrificed to the mortgage crisis, there is a lot of feeling invested in a small business, especially a family business or one lasting several years like theirs.

”You don’t want to go do something new? There are lots of things we can do.”

‘“Absolutely not!”

It was said with such firmness that he stood there just looking at her.

“So you’re a quitter Spider?”

“I am not a quitter,” he said.

“You quit the corporate world and now you are quitting small business”  It came across as a make-wrong and put him on the defensive.

“You need to wake up, Ginsee, times have changed.”  He said it with a touch of patronization that he instantly regretted. She always reacted badly to that, knowing that she wasn’t as well educated as he.

“I don’t care!”  She had tears in her eyes.

He back pedaled and said patiently “With the volunteer strike we lost our biggest account, the hospital.  Add to that that there are just too many Corporations leaving Shadow County. You have to admit Ginsee that our accounts have been dwindling. We are operating in a playing field that is contracting.”

“I know that Spider.”

They had recently gone into a large office building, one of their bigger accounts, only to find that three office wings had been evacuated. The lights were off and the wind was howling down the corridors.

“Where are all the people,” she had asked.

“They have all been shipped  to the Third World,” said a loyal customer, one of the few who had staid. In the Third World corporate employees could be had for ten on the dime.

“What about the Shadow County fiasco? It could happen again,” he said.

The County Supervisors had axed what had been a win-win activity. For almost thirty years vendors had gone into the Shadow County offices to create events, partnering with the Shadow County Employees to support charities. What sat in Spider’s craw was that he knew that the popular vendor events served the county employees in many ways that the supervisors didn’t even begin to appreciate.  It brought them unusual products and gave them a worthwhile game.  What Spider had most hated was that shortly before the guillotine had fallen, he had spent over two thousand dollars to fill special orders for a County facility where he could now no longer go. There had been no warning.

What he had loved about their County events was the spontaneity. In one company an inspired worker had adopted a family and helped them celebrate the Year-end. Soon the other employees had jumped aboard to where he found that their commission was helping over a hundred families in the community. Spider loved that. When you donate to big charity it is the bureaucrats who get the money.  Furthermore he understood that when the public sector failed to support the private sector, the tax base began to shrink and that was what caused government layoffs and the beginning of a dwindling spiral. How Spider hated BIG government in bed with BIG corporations and now also in bed with BIG charities.

“The dice is loaded against small business; think of Fred and your pool.”  He was still trying to win her over to his point of view.

Fred Kent was their framer; a man who had been very much a part of the success of their business. When the economy had turned down Spider had gone to him to ask how much he owed the banks, fearing the worst because Fred had undergone a big expansion just before the slide. The framer had been a prudent man, and now owned his property outright. When he told Spider that he owed nothing, Spider had hugged him.  With this framer on their supply lines, Spider had known they could prevail whatever government chose to do with the economy.  Yet they had just heard that Fred had, had to layoff some staff and cut his warehouse-space in half, renting out the part.  He didn’t have big business debts but there were always the operating costs, costs that were going up due to inflation. Ginsee’s physical therapist had also layed off staff and closed the pool, she said too many silly regulations for the pool, and heating costs were prohibitive. She was also operating with half the space she had enjoyed before in the better times.

“But they are not quitting, Zafia is not quitting, and Fred is not quitting.  They offer so much that I know they will survive. What I don’t like is that you are wanting to quit, Spider.”

“What is going on here Ginsee, this is not at all like you?”he asked. Usually she meekly followed his lead.

“What I don’t like is that It is all Corkscrew’s fault; we quit and he wins.”

“What?” He was still smarting from being called a quitter, and still hadn’t figured out what the conversation was about, so he said, “Yet you voted for him.”

Corkscrew was a little rotund man, with indeterminate color and big ears.  He was their elected President. Spider, a strong supporter of the Constitution had gone to the president-elect’s website and had been able to read the socialist agenda that was couched between the lines and had not voted for him. Many innocent voters like Ginsee had been taken in. This had been before they were married.

“Yes damn you Spider I did vote for him and I regret it. That was before you educated me. I have come to see that this president is bad for the New World,”  Spider inclined his head. It was the first time she had acknowledged his views on Corkscrew.

It was their friend Jamboree who had given the devious President the name Corkscrew in her saucy blog, ”Pink Salt”. The post had gone viral and the name had stuck,.

satirical on corruption

“I wouldn’t worry Ginsee, the cadaverous senators supporting the man are already half dead. It is just a matter of time before they all go down.” Ginsee didn’t smile.

“Seriously Spider, the man has far too much power.”

“You think?”

“Yes.”

“And what has this to do with our business?”

“What is it we sell Spider?”

“Framed art.”

“No. Think about it, what do we advertise all the time?  We advertise ‘quality of life’. ”

Spider had to concede that what she was saying was true: for their tagline was ‘Quality of Life that is Affordable.’

“Think back to your horrible life in Working Man’s city.”  she continued intensely.

He looked at her now fully engaged, remembering tract upon tract of drab square government houses.

“So?”

“So what happened in Working Man’s City is happening right here and now in Shadow County.  Did you see what they have done to the foothills? They are scraping off the tops of the hillocks to level the ground.  At least in Working Man’s City it was flat to start with.”

“They are trying to make everything flat?” He hated that.

“That is right. You didn’t know? ”

“No.”

“It is all going to be all flat and ugly here.” She was still teary..

“Socialism is ugly.”

“Socialism is the big equalizer, I know how you hate that.”

She smiled at him and he smiled back. They were talking again.

“He is screwing with us, Spider, but that is not why I don’t want to quit.  We make aesthetics and quality of life affordable for the ordinary man. It is now hard times, and I don’t want to also take that away from our customers. Going on is the least we can do. I don’t want to take a quality of life away from the people that we have served for over ten years.”

Spider got it. He finally got it. He went over to her and hugged her.

“I understand.” How far his fairy princess had come since he had married her. She was amazing! She was awesome!

“”And we will stay in business and flourish and prosper?”

“Yes.”

“To flourish and prosper we are going to have to handle Corkscrew.”

“That too.”

Greedy Banking

Corrupt  Banking destroys Capitalism and Prosperity

greed

Letting the market adjust in accordance with pricing determined by supply and demand is fair and it is far more efficient than leaving it to politicians.  You don’t believe Grandma? You are in good company for nobody on the far, far right or the far left would ever agree. Don’t be deceived by these extremes in both parties, (Republican and Democrats) for this is actually one group not two, and the divide is artificial. Liberty Lovers define these politicians as Statists. Statists can be defined as those who want to keep and protect the status-quo. AIG and cronies (assholes in greed) earning big bonuses in a casino designed by bankers, are the prime defenders of the status-quo. They want things to stay the same – investment business as usual.

The big question is – has business as usual given us a fair and workable distribution of American wealth and resources. Take a few minutes to examine the true facts and you may find the situation more dire than the propaganda line.

Watch this video: mind blowing facts

Now are you ready to listen up here, and help Grandma educate and spread the word?  If you care, your hat is to make what is really going on real to voters in 2014. This is a critical year. Grandma believes that the world is on a tipping point and the outcome of the next two elections, will decide our fate.

The answer is to educate them. .

This is exactly what went wrong: When there is a corrupt marriage between government and banking,  it is possible that Harry’s loan can be corrupted. In our example Banker Dick got greedy and decided to charge compound interest from the get-go and to add insult to injury  to make these charges retroactive. Then to make matters even worse  he cut Sally’s interest rate to way lower than 5%.  How was he able to put his hand in the cookie jar an get away with this stealing?

 Politicians propitiating

This is the exact point where an honest government (justice department) should have stepped in to play umpire and to say, “Oh no, hold it right there Dick There was an agreement here between you and Harry and an agreement between you and Sally and you are unilaterally changing the rules.

When government (which is force) gives Dick the right to change the terms of his agreements, the system has been corrupted by the force of government and we no longer have Capitalism.

(Incidentally Grandma believes that DOJ has not played umpire since just after Lincoln was assassinated, and the Executive took over the Department of Justice.)

A fair transaction is one where both parties agree and both parties benefit and the transaction is transparent. If the bank persuades its buddy, big government to allow it to charge compound interest from the get go, the system has been corrupted and banks (who are in no way producers) are getting an unfair slice of the dice. If the banks persuade big government to also let them have floating rates of interest, fractional banking and variable penalties, this destroys Capitalism and our prosperity.

This is our market place turned into a Casino Investors should profit only from a predicted  increase then they will use their money and influence in that direction.

And what of the unintended consequences? We now have an investor who was able to buy countries and politicians and radically change elections and not always for the better. Is Dick Sorrowmaker a producer? Investors, bankers and politicians, none of them are producers.

Will more corrupt government fix it? Unfortunately power creates an appetite for more power.  We can now see evidence globally of international bankers embracing socialism as their new “great scam” to consolidate their hold over us and our wealth.

In a free economy Harry gets his loan, buys new machinery and starts to make fancy decks and sun porches. He employs new workers who are paid fairly. Employment goes up. This new market he has newly found is wide open and he can keep his furniture at an even keel and depend on the new products for his profit. He has already learned all the woodworking tricks that will take him successfully into his next venture.  The price for his furniture and for his decks will be determined not by government but by supply and demand. True Capitalism is governed by self interest, but it is the community’s cumulative transactions (the market) that has the power to transform self interest into the greatest good for the greatest number “as if by an invisible hand”

Will Raising the Minimum Wage Create Jobs?

grandpa

Grandpa suggests ways to reduce unemployment and get us out of an end of endless economic slump

President Obama has expressed his support for creating more jobs for Americans. We all know that’s what he stands for.

At the same time he is committed to raising the minimum wage. A noble concept, one that seeks to keep pace with the rising costs from inflation, but will it create more jobs?

showing the relationship between minimum wage increases and unemployment

Rising Unemployment – a consequence of the Increase of the Minimum Wage?

If the President really wants to help the economy he should keep the cost of living down for poorer Americans; he would make it easier for employers to hire new workers and he would make it easier for America to compete in the global economy.

He should also look at the printing of all the bail-out money that makes for inflation, for it is rising costs that will undo not only the minimum wage workers, but all small business owners.

Raising the minimum wage may increase the President’s popularity among the earners of low wages (those who get to keep their jobs, that is), but few people realize how much employees actually cost employers. Employers don’t have to pay only the wages, but they also have to contribute to the employee’s Social Security, Medicare, Worker’s Comp and Unemployment insurance, not to mention mandated ObamaCare costs. In self defense small business owners may have no choice but to keep their work enterprise small (and keep it all) or they will go under.

While small businesses are the mainstay of the American economy, most are struggling and the net result of raising the minimum wage is that employees who aren’t essential to the survival of the business will be let go, while some businesses may have to permanently close their doors. All of this means more unemployment.

Here is an approach that should reduce unemployment and get us out of the economic slump:

  1. Level the global playing field
  2. Stabilize the dollar
  3. Balance imports and exports
  4. Downsize the government

Level the global playing field – More and more of the things we buy are imported, especially from the People’s Republic of China. It is nice of the U.S. government to help raise the living standard of the people in this communist nation’s worker’s paradise, but a government’s primary responsibility is toward its own people.

Leveling the playing field should improve our nation’s prosperity, as ultimately wealth is the result of productivity and innovation. With a struggling economy and a debt-ridden government, the wrong thing to do is raise wages and increase benefits. Employment is encouraged by reducing burdens on employers – fewer rules and regulations will also help.

Another way to reduce unemployment is to impose (temporary and modest) tariffs on imports. That will make it more possible for American manufacturing businesses to compete with other countries, as well as raise revenue for the U.S. government.

Stabilize the dollar – It will also be helpful to stop inflating the money supply, because the more dollars are created out of thin air (think bail-outs), the more expensive our goods and services will become and the less we will be able to compete with the rest of the world. Besides, by inflating the money supply, the government is stealing from everybody.

A requirement for a stable dollar is for all government (federal, state and local) to live within its means and not to spend more money than it has coming in. Not an easy task, I know, but a necessary one. This means that in hard times it has to tighten the belt by getting rid of all waste. For our current federal government, that means ceasing all bail-outs and reducing subsidies, foreign aid and foreign military presence. And, of course, not starting any new wars.

Balance imports and exports – This is also part of stabilizing the dollar, because if we as a nation spend more than we have coming in, we will get into trouble, just as we as individuals will when we live beyond our means. As mentioned earlier, when imports exceed exports, raise tariffs on imports. While that may be unpopular with other countries, our own nation’s welfare should be paramount.

Downsize the government – Government has in recent decades grown into a monster that meddles in all our lives. Besides being a threat to our liberty, the cost to taxpayers is huge. Our government employees are ultimately financed by the productive population.

The primary purpose of a government is to maintain order within is borders. The police and the court system are there to isolate the criminal element from the rest of society. Most other government departments are unnecessary and could be disbanded with few ill effects. Their functions could be carried out better and more economically by private enterprise. The talents of the government employees can then be used to raise productivity in the private sector, which would be to everyone’s benefit.

As you can see from the above, it is possible to increase employment and raise prosperity. While these ideas are unlikely to be implemented in the near future, I am putting these thoughts out there as, after all, the pen is more powerful than the sword.

Ideas are senior to force

Understanding how Man became the Endangered Species

We all love our green planet;  but some EPA thinking is JUST SILLY.

Over the last eight years, did we give elected officials and their chosen bureaucrats too much power to stop?

I was talking recently to a die-hard environmentalist.  Fossil-Lady chortled with glee as she told me the Tejon cities had been effectively stopped. She belonged to an EPA activist group that found any kind of urban development unsettling. We were talking together about Tejon Ranch, the largest surviving ranch in California originally owned by General Edward Fitzgerald Beale, an explorer and historic figure in early California.  Tejon is now a development corporation. Even before the crash of 2008, the development group had planned to sliver off a small corridor of land from the vast territory while agreeing to conserve 90% of what is THEIR own land. This is not California land, or Federal land, it is privately owned. I was thinking it was a generous gift.

Fossil-Lady was fighting the proposed developments along the I-5 and the I-138. While it is true that the ranch is home to hundreds of bird species, including a few from federal and the state endangered species. Sadly there are some who fight the right of MAN to share with them and profit.  I will admit the EPA had some good fighting arguments and they were keeping the courts busy. Besides the endangered species, Tejon is also home to at least twenty on the Audubon Watch-list, such as the Spotted Owl, Willow Flycatcher, and Tri-colored Blackbird and of course the magnificent Condor.

My question to Fossil-Lady, which she wasn’t answering, was that because 90% of the land would still remain pristine, could birds not fly over a one story, two story or even three story building?

silly-epa

Centennial, the one planned city, is along the I-138. This joins the I-14 down into the LA Metropolis.  The second, a smaller more expensive and more prestigious getaway, was planned in five acre lots near the lakes along the I-5 just beyond Lebec. This was all planned & budgeted for, long before the 2008 crash and now it is 2017. Why has this development never even been started – stopped eternally by the  EPA.  The most noisy of the opposition was the Center for Biological Diversity, based in Tucson, Arizona. They claim the development endangers too many ecosystems, including the largest native grassland left in California.(My common sense father would have said, “Arizona” but I thought you said you were in California? Yes Dad, but do you not know that the Environmental Lobby transcends state lines, actually it goes all the way up to the United Nations where its dart is firmly embedded.)

Fossil-Lady said that she strongly applauded the Arizona efforts. I asked, “You say both projects are now finally approved?”

“That’s right!” Fossil-Lady’s Cheshire-smile broke out again, surprising me. I knew she was against the development.

I frowned, “So . . .  why aren’t they beginning to build?”

“Nobody building in this crazy economy?” she said with lots & lots of satisfaction.

I invite the reader to take a closer look at how this has impacted our small rural community economically?

Against this backdrop, a friend traveled three hours to Fresno desperately looking work, which had all but vanished after the 2008 banking collapse. When he finally got to Fresno there was no work there either; no job as promised, and no lodging. So he and his wife (an outstanding chiropractor) were being forced to leave our community. What is his trade?  Actually he builds houses. If the development had not been stopped by the Environmentalists he could have happily plied his trade on his own home turf. He and his wife would have been spared much financial stress and the community would have been that much richer in more than just one way.

Why could he not get a job in Fresno? Let me share with you what was going wrong in the Central Valley, why it was that he couldn’t get work there either?

There is a very rich farming area around Fresno; so why no employment? The Central Valley raise more than 350 different crops, supporting 20% of all the jobs in the Valley. Some niche markets here, as many of these crops are not grown anywhere else in the nation and some not anywhere else in the world.  Let me correct myself, these were the products and statistics before the EPA unloaded on that area also.

We used to be able to find 1.88 million acres of arable farmland near Fresno; I say arable but that was before the EPA lobby persuaded the left-leaning Congress to cut off the water for farming. Go figure. You need to know, reader, that every dollar that is created by successful farming, generates another $3.50 for the local and regional economy.

California’s drought has devastated the state’s economy, costing about $2.7 billion and over 10,000 agricultural jobs. Nearly 600,000 acres of farmland now lies fallow. There is a drought that California is fighting but the central valley farmers blame Congress. Travel up the I-99 from Southern to Northern California and you will quickly see the signs, “CONGRESS CREATED the DUSTBOWL” Local farmers began a desperate PR effort to enlighten Americans on the danger of the continuing  EPA regulations, denying water to our food basin.

boxer-no-jobs

The local farmers are quite right to blame the liberal caucus, but they are also partly wrong. There has been a natural drought in California; even our little dam in Frazier Park has dried up and Congress didn’t do that. They are also trucking in water to Lake of the Woods, one of the little villages that make up our rural “hill” community. But any good community should pull together to conquer natural challenges. This didn’t happen in California where we are so divided.

The “River Restoration” program, mandated by Sacramento and also by Washington is designed “to restore and maintain fish populations in ‘good condition’ in the main stem of the San Joaquin River below Friant Dam to the confluence of the Merced River” . This program is a large part of the problem. Stops came from a settlement agreement in a lawsuit filed aggressively by the Environmental Lobby, placing the survival of little fish senior to the survival and prosperity of Man. Hello, do we have a situation in our courts? Should they not be passing judgement for the greatest good? Add to the above, the “Endangered Species Act”, invoked by the Delta smelt, a little fish that’s not even suitable for eating.  The courts decided these were more important than MANKIND. The cutoff of irrigation water, mandated by this judgement has destroyed the Central Valley agriculture and tens of thousands of jobs. This has been all for a trade-off for the survival of the wee, poor little, endangered fish. No I kid you not, in the middle of this bad California drought, since 2008 1.4 trillion gallons of water have been flushed into the San Francisco Bay.

Good news is that Diane Feinstein and Kevin McCarthy have created common ground and common-sense legislation that saves the farming in central California. This is has just passed through both the House and the Senate. Even President Obama has agreed to sign the bill, signalling that he does have the better interests of the nation at heart. (Senator Boxer is being dragged off kicking and biting and screaming, and frothing at the mouth. Goodbye, good riddance.

Sadly the EPA battles in California are not over. Will Americans ever embrace common sense and learn to work together for the common good? The issue is not only scarce water, it is also scarce energy and the rising cost thereof, making it difficult for Americans to keep up. An aging population needs every kind of affordable energy, coal, oil, fracking, natural gas, wind power and solar to keep warm. With this erratic weather, being able to depend on warm houses and central heating is absolutely vital.

Only with healthy competition, will our energy costs become affordable. We are a nation of many abilities and a nation of many resources, THERE IS TRULY NO REASON FOR SCARCITY IN AMERICA.

One last question and sadly it also has to be asked.  Those who wish to make America great again see that the climate is unstable; what we haven’t seen is GLOBAL WARMING. What we do see and hear is that this “global warming” narrative is a very strong favorite of the “untrustworthy” New World Order. I wish it were not so, but those who favor “America First” have a healthy (proven) distrust of GLOBAL. With the climate change NARRATIVE out there and far, far too loud and noisy, astute Americans ask (and so they should be asking) is there any hidden agenda associated with global warming?

Whether the reader voted for Donald Trump, or Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton our survival, prosperity and greatness will come from all men of good will learning to work together for the greatest good.  Like Diane Feinstein, we need to learn to work together on projects that are good for us all. We also need to be vigilant, and protect ourselves from Big Brother; is the hidden agenda that MSM wants us to pay lip service to, that what they really want is for us to pay a city tax, a county tax, a gas-at-the-pump tax, a value-added tax, a Sales tax, a State tax, a Federal tax and now also a Global tax? Are these freeloaders angling to sneak a Global Tax through, calling it a CARBON TAX?

conspiracy

Conclusion
Americans love our beautiful planet, we love our free lands and we will stand up to protect them. We have also advanced to where we have became aware of our collective identity and we know we have a responsibility for the planet.

However, let’s use common sense, and be alert to efforts to stop progress.

There is something wrong in our thinking when the disadvantaged stay poor, and millennials are all still stuck in their parent’s basements.
